  1. They are some really neet kids, just like MOM and DAD are neet people.

  2. I always carry a roll of duct tape when I cruise....now a new reason LOL.
  3. Answered No...just that much more to wash...
  4. We have sailed the Conquest twice...very good crew and the ship stays in good maintanance...some of iur best cruising was on the Conquest...ENJOY..
  5. WOW! supermarkets selling wine! what is the world coming too? LOL... In Texas the liquor stores are closed on Sunday buy any grocery store that sells beer can also sell wine only after noon on Sunday...It has to do with the alcohol content. ...Hard liquor on one license and beer and wine on another.I'll take Welches (It's all grape juice to me...I'm not a wine person) Later Jim
  6. Looks like a wonderful cruise, but Kathy doesn't fly and I'm not driving that far...Y'all enjoy and I'll be thinking about you.
  7. Try CafePress...order what you want and make you're own logo...
  8. I think what he is talking about as mandatory gratuities is that Carnival puts them on your sign and sail card automatically...it can be removed or adjusted as the pax sees fit...I think (IMO) that this was done due to so many skipping out with out leaving a grat. I eat steak, no seafood, and if they start charging for steak then I guess I'll revert to hamburgers or chili dogs...I can see a charge in a specialty restaurant, but not in the main dinning room. RCI is talking that a bit too far (again IMO) Later Jim
  9. Kinda my thoughts...Coz would not be any worse than Roatan, Jamica or Cayman Is. expect is says Mexico
  10. The concern is always there for illness, but I feel the eastern peninsula (the Yucatan) is safer than the Western Mexican Riviera (Cabo etc) which is closer to Mexico City. I also feel there is some Media Sensationalism and fear factor that is being instilled into the readers. I also feel that if the fear is great enough that the itineries will change.
  11. If I'm getting shot at then that addage is out the window.
  12. They were trying to keep the tree hugging liberals from condeming them for being the agressor. If your going to drop something from the side of the ship, make sure it's big enough to go thru the speed boat...chair won't do it.
  13. A better breakfast menu for room service. More traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, etc, etc) instead of just fruit and cereal and pastries.
  14. I'm OK with the main dinning room...
  15. I stick with the basics...steak, potatoes and chocolate...chili dogs and hamburgers...can't go wrong USEALLY.
  16. For breakfast I prefer the buffett...I can hurt myself there...I like everything...scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes or waffles or both, plenty of syrup, biscuits and gravy and a lot of coffee. I don't do the fruit deAL... have to keep my cholesterol up there
  17. Very interesting...learned some things I didn't know...confirmed some suspitions...and over all very entertaining. I feel the cruise line that is the most conservative on new ships will be the one to emerge out of the uncertain period in the best shape. Refurb instead of new etc. Thanks Joey Later Jim
  18. This is a difficult one. As was said earlier...I'm not royalty, I'm just a working class blue collar stiff that has paid hard earned monies for a vacation. Out of seven cruises, we have only had one (an RCI ship) that our room steward was less than attentive. Being the fact if she were new, having a bad week, unsure of her responsibilities, or whatever. I just expect courteous service, being called by name is nice but not necessary as long as we are acknowledged. Dinning room wait staff have all been really attentive in my opinion. One usually reaps what is sewn. When one is used to Burger King, then anything is an upgrade LOL. Bar staff on all seven cruises could be better, drinks in the theater have always been well served, it's the service in the rest of the ship that is lacking unless you walk up to the bar IMO. I've always been very well satisfied with the food selection (see previous remark) and the main dinning room as well as the buffet has been amply served and well prepared. I guess what I'm saying is those that complain about a certain line or a certain type of service may be expecting more than the particular line has opted to supply. If one wants extreme luxury then find the line that supplies it. You can't expect 5 star opulence when you pay for a Yugo...you have to step up to a Caddy or better yet a Marcedes or Jag. So much for my rant Later Jim
  19. This is a good deal...I really like the Ecstasy, she's a neet old ship. I hope with the refurbs that Carnival will also address the propulsion problems as well as I'm sure they will.
