  6. ExpatCruise, WELCOME!!!! Thanks for this interesting info on the Singapore ports - on my bucket list for sure.
  7. Thanks for posting Joe. I've got to say the photo's make the ship look very "vanilla" which may be better than the older ships and their garish colors. Still too many people in too small of an area for me though.
  8. Fantastic ..... more relaxing days than you can count ?
  9. Yes Jan been to Ravello three times! Absolutely love it. There is a small "mom & pop" restaurant (not advertised) up on the top of the mountain (lots of steps) that is out of this world. they keep bringing another course and another course ..... the food is out of this world ... finishing the meal with the obligatory Limoncello - stunning view and food!!!
  10. Yes I agree with you all, and not only the relaxation of the sea days but because one is together with fellow cruisers for a great deal of time, one strikes up fantastic friendships, most of which are lasting. Transatlantics are addictive!!!!
  11. So glad you had a good day. Valdemossa sounds appealing - I must say I would prefer to have stops without so many highrise buildings/people. I wish the cruise lines would start incorporating more charming village type stops and less large cities - even if we would have to tender.
  12. Yes I feel the same as you Jan about this setup - not perfect for such a small space in my opinion. Also don't like that the shower or toilet are only behind milk glass and right in the doorway. I have been known to be in the shower (in enclosed bathroom) while hubby receives room service ........ this setup would not fly!!
  13. Welcome to Cruise CraziesTrizi!!! Thanks so much for posting this pic ...... yes that sure is a crazy bathroom setup ..... is the toilet behind a curtain??
  14. Great info thanks Andi ..... it's now on my wishlist!!!
  15. Well like most people we have been on many ships that we have really enjoyed. Twice we have been on the Royal Princess and can honestly say this was the prettiest ship we have ever sailed on. We loved the colored musical fountains on deck at night and their movies under the stars with pillow and blanket, popcorn, ice-cream and cookies all brought around during the show were fabulous. We loved the set up of the Lido restaurant ..... huge and seperated areas worked wonderfully. Love this ship!!!
  16. Andi, it was so great to read about the Coral Princess. We have cruised on so many Princess ships yet never on a Panamax ship (Coral or Island) and they are certainly on our bucket list. Thanks for the info - we need to work on going on her, for sure.
  17. Oooooh Vision of the Seas is one of my favorite ships and the captain is amazing, handsome and talented. He sings in the Centrum every evening ......
  18. A bit of useless information: When we were last in Cannes we passed an epically enormous luxury yacht docked there in the basin. Our tour guide told us it was owned by an oil sheik and that he pays US$250,000.00 PER DAY for docking fees. Thanks for the lovely pics, sounds like you are having a great time.
  19. Were you able to go to Ponte Vecchio? Just love that iconic bridge. I had seen photo's of it many times but did not realize that the entire inside was vendors.
  20. Crossing borders of ALL cruise lines ..... which is the most favorite cruise ship you have sailed on and why?
  21. Yes isn't Florence wonderful!!! I was absolutely blown away with the statue of David .... so moving, the tears rolled down my face looking at this masterpiece marble sculpture by Michelangelo. So realistic, bulging veins, muscle groups OMG what a brilliant artist he was..... Did you check out the stores on Ponte Vecchio - I bought a gorgeous leather bag there.
  22. Thanks for the great explanation Jan - it sure does sound a little crazy. Looking forward to seeing the pics. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!!!
  23. Yeah Jan, I'm with Andi ....... just as curious!
  24. If I can say anything about European cruises/trips, is that one needs to be able to walk and climb. So many hills and lots of uneven cobblestone streets. One thing is for sure if one cannot manage to do the above rather take a vacation elsewhere. Europe is OLD and Europeans are used to walking everywhere ..... including their seniors.
  25. Jan that is one of our favorite parts of the world, we absolutely love the Amalfi coast ... can't get enough of that gorgeous coastline and seaside towns. So glad to see you had the famed pizza in Naples while there. Thanks for posting.
