  1. I see the Conquest will be your first cruise...how exciting. I can almost guarantee you will be as hooked as the rest of us are the minute you set foot on that ship!!!

  2. Hi there Kentuckyimport. Welcome to C.C.

  3. Larry, love the new avatar - great pic...
  4. Sue, sounds like a good time will be had by all....
  5. Wish I was 2 days away...instead of 109!!!

  6. Jason - as always....great job!!!!

  7. Hi Bobby, welcome to C.C. In the early days of cruising, we only sailed with our 2 teenage sons. A yr. and half ago, we went on one with our 2 best friends and we had a great time, so we booked another one with them, which will be in Oct. Due to financial constraints, they are not going to be able to make that cruise, but our youngest son, who is 27, and his girlfriend, took over their booking and are going with us. We also have one booked in Jan. with a group that is about 30 couples right now, but keeps growing - that will be our first venture into a group cruise....
  8. Shaunna, hope you are feeling much better by now....
  9. Shaunna, wishing you and Steve a wonderfully relaxing, romantic cruise...
  10. Falina, I can't speak for other lines but Carnival always has an omelet station in the Lido deck buffet. I imagine all cruise lines are pretty muh the same.
  11. We have only eaten breakfast one time, in the dining room. We prefer the buffet. I love scarmbled eggs - that is the only way I like them, so my ideal breakfast is scrambled eggs with catsup, bacon, ham, fruit and some toast with grape jelly plus some cranberry juice.
  12. I just recently asked this question to a friend who is booked on a B2B in Jan. It is the same cruise we are going on, only we are doing just the last leg - several couples doing the whole 2 weeks. Bill said that they will have the same cabin both weeks and will be able to leave all their belongings on the ship on the day that other passengers disbark and we embark. They will be taken off the ship as a group and go thru customs and then will reboard. At least that is what they were told, it may very well turn out to be the same as Mary Lou's experience and they will be able to stay onboard.
  13. No Bingo for us either. We have watched a few games because they seem to play it in the afternoons while waiting for some event to start in the lounge.
  14. I don't think they can retro charge.. We were told when we booked, that even though we were not being charged the fuel fee right now, if oil went above $70 a barrel, we may have to pay the $9 per day per passenger fuel charge. I really hope not because my son and Jessica are still unsure if they are going to be able to swing the cruise or not and I hate to mention that they may have to pay more. Actually, if that does happen, I guess that we would just pay theirs...
  15. It is my understanding Joey, that it will be charged on ALL bookings, if it goes back into effect. Even those that are already booked. As we have 2 cruises booked, I certainly hope that it does not come back...the cruise line more than makes up for the higher cost of fuel with all the extras they charge you now....
  16. James and Donna, wishing you the best cruise ever...Bon Voyage.
  17. Ed, maybe you can talk them into having a reunion every year so you will have that to look forward to!!! Wishing you and Roe a wonderful time with her old classmates and nothing but clear skies and calm seas on your cruise. You kids behave ourselves!!!
  18. We went up in the Space Needle when we were in Seattle also...
  19. Joey, I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing time. If you got to Pike's Place, you must go in and watch them throw fish!!!
  20. I think she has been practicing for this role for some time!!!!
  21. Larry, I think everyone here was right on...I too would just say that with all the stress of the daily world nowadays, that you are looking to take your wife away alone and have time to reconnect with each other and just have a romantic time with her. Surely he will realize that 4 is a crowd in that circumstance. My in-laws bicker constantly...more her than him, she will nag him about everything...rocking in his chair (she said it bothers her to see it go back and forth) how he combs his hair, etc. I love them but I am about ready to explode after about an hr. around the bickering....
  22. On our group cruise in January, we ae doing a Poker Run. One cabin of each kind is being used...we have an aft wrap balcony suite with a separate bedroom so we offered ours up. We will go to 5 different cabins and collect a card and whoever has the bet hand at the end wins the pot...I think everyone puts in $5. Each cabin has "refreshments" - ours will be tequilla shots.
  23. Joey, our last cruise, I printed out the luggage tags on card stock. I know the tags say something about folding and stapling to your baggage handle or something like that, but I have never been one to follow directions. I cut them out, folded them so they were double sided and covered them with clear contact paper. Then I used a hole punch to put a hole in the top and put a large rubber band thru it and it worked just like one of the tags from the cruise line. Our friends did it the way the instructions said to and theirs were showing great wear by the time they got their luggage onboard...
  24. Congrats Joey - you just booked and you are already an SDM....
  25. Jim, you can order dinner for me anytime. I am a creature of habit - I do not try new foods. Almost every day on a cruise, I have a hot dog with saurkraut and onions and fruit. If Carnival has the nacho bar open, I will partake of it. For dinner, I usually have a steak - I don't much care for beef dishes with fancy sauces on them - just give me a steak and bring the A-1. I like simple foods. As for sushi - I never could understand the hype about it...you can get a bucket of minnows for about $2...isn't it basically the same thing???
