  6. Butch, thanks for the laugh. I can see it now (glad I wasn't within 50 ft. to see it though). They should just let you handle those little ketchup packets - can't do much harm with them!!!
  7. Jackie, I hope you have a marvelous cruise and it erases all memories of your last sailing. Give Rose a hug for me. Bon Voyage, my friend....
  8. Rose, hope you and Howie have a wonderful, relaxing week on the high seas. Give Jackie a big hug for me and I am going to ask her to give you one from me. Bon Voyage!!!
  9. Joey, hope you and David have the best cruise ever. Wishing you nothing but calm seas and blue skies...
  10. Jackie, a week is plenty of time to get home, unpack, do the laundry, pack again and board that plane. I say book it!!!
  11. I didn't know that Jackie, but I still can't bring myself to put my mouth on a snorkel that someone else had used and then it was just thrown in a barrel of water. Call me anal (my son calls me that all the time) but I just can't get past that one!!!
  12. I have to pick Carnival's Warm Melting Chocolate Cake with extra ice cream.
  13. Hey Howard, just saw this post. You posted it the day we left for South Padre Island and my mind was elsewhere that day. Congrats on your new booking. You stay out of trouble in ports, you hear??? No more pics of you with the "Girls Gone Wild" bunch....
  14. Our first cruise, back in 1995, we signed up for a snorkel excursion in our first port, which was Freeport, Bahamas. We had never snorkeled before so we used the excursion supplied equipment. After snorkeling, we watched their method of "sanitizing" the equipment and decided we would never use "shared equipment" again. We went to a sporting goods store and bought complete sets for us and the boys before our next cruise. Joey, it was relatively inexpensive. Back then, they did not charge for extra baggage on airlines, so we always took a suitcase that had nothing but snorkel gear in it. As I prefer to drive to port nowadays, it is not an issue either, so we always carry our own. Our friends, who cruised with us for the first time last Nov., asked us this same question when they were here last summer, and after they heard our answer, we all headed to Sports Authority and they bought their own. They were on sale for 1/2 price and I think they paid around $30 per set.
  15. If you did, I'll buy you a drink!!!
  16. When you posted your other thread, I made the decision to stay completely out of that one. It seemed to me that the original intent of it was to cause some kind of controversy. I totally agree with Maria's statement that your posts put all employees of the mentioned cruiselines, in a very bad light and would cause readers to give great thought to sailing on them. Personally, I find the fact that you even posted such a poll as this, to be quite strange. Most of the members here are quite loyal to both Cruise Crazies and to Jason. It appears that you may not have liked the way he handled the situation in your other thread and you are trying to keep the controversy going. I, for one, think he did exactly what was needed, just as he always does. It seems a bit egotistical on your part, to even think that people would consider leaving this wonderful forum because of your thread. I am sorry if I am offending other members, but I just totally do not see the purpose of this thread, other than to cause some sort of division. I thought about keeping my mouth shut in this thread also, but decided not to. While it may not have been your intention, it appears that you were attempting to push Jason into addressing this situation also, and he has much more important things to do than to keep dealing with this kind of thing...
  17. Kevin, kudos to your son. What part of Colorado do you live in? We live in the Denver area, though not directly in Denver. We live in Adams county, but our kids went to school in Jefferson county. We built this house and moved when my youngest was in his sophomore yr. and so I drove him all the way to school and back at Standley Lake H.S. until he turned 16 (his jr. year) and then he was able to cart himself around...
  18. We never took our kids out of school for vacations. There were a few times when they had to miss a day or two due to a family event happening in Oklahoma and we needed an extra day or so for travel, but I always contacted the school beforehand and got any assignments they might miss and made them do the work while we were away. All vacations were planned around their summer, spring or winter breaks. It is so easy for them to fall behind and while they may have been making up any work that was assigned at that time, I did not want them to miss the discussions and instructing that went on in the classroom. We always took our cruises in the summer, and while it would have been cheaper to do so in the "off-seasons" it was just never an option. It is much nicer now that they are grown and we can travel at our whims...
  19. I am a big reader. I always have my nose in a book when I have some free time I spend quite a bit of time out on our deck, in my swing, with a book in one hand and a Mike's Hard Cranberry Lemonade in the other. I usually take 2-3 books on a cruise as it only takes me a couple of days to finish one. I love sitting on the balcony and reading on sea days and I always take a clip-on book light with me so I can sit out at night and read.
  20. We did watch Las Vegas. I was sorry to see it canceled as Tom Selleck had just joined the cast. We also watched 1 vs 100 but mainly because there was nothing else on at that time so won't really miss it. Penn from Penn and Teller did that game show called Identity, which only aired briefly - I think for about a week at a time on 2 different occassions. I hope they tape some more of the that show as I really liked it.
  21. Rose, wishing you and Howie a wonderful cruise. May all your days at sea be smooth and filled with sun and fun and may all your days in port be adventurous. Anchors aweigh……
  22. My car has to have premium so I am paying about 3.99 a gallon - okay, that is actully 3.99 9/10's, so why don't they just say $4.00 a gallon. With oil companies reporting record profits last quarter, I don't see why someone cannot step in and stop this price gouging - and yes, I think that is exactly what it is.
  23. I remember the time when there was gas rationing and you could only get gas on certain days. I also remember being absolutley livid when gas went to .58 a gallon. Wish I could just find some for under 3.00 a gallon now...
  24. Don't know where I have been - just saw this thread. I saw the pics of the Segway group - looked like a lot of fun. What do you do with them when you want to go in a store? Thanks for posting the review Chuck.
  25. Browneyedbabee, may all your days at sea be smooth and filled with sun and fun and may all your days in port be adventurous. Anchors aweigh……
