  1. Frosty, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.
  2. Sister53, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.
  3. Loved the pics Linda, and I gotta' commend Wayne for undertaking this at his age. Keep us posted on his progress.
  4. Hey Smoo, if you're taking orders, I'll take one of each!!!
  5. Yeah, but you know how long their attention span is - they'll forget you said it about 2 minutes after they read it!!!
  6. We always bring our sons and our grandson back something. They always get a T-shirt from every port - if there is a local Harley Davidson dealer, it comes from there. My older son also likes shot glasses so he gets one of those and the munchkin gets a little toy from every port and usually a few from the ship gift ship. We do buy jewelry in some places - Diamonds International in St. Thomas or Helena's in St. Martin but those are the only 2 jewelers we have dealt with. We have purchased jewelry from both after we have returned home also, via phone and internet. We have always gotten everything appraised by our jeweler here and it has always been worth more than we paid. I always buy my perfume when in port also.
  7. Lisa, I would love to go shoe shopping with you - hey, the Skipper said there is a DSW in Vegas!!! Smoo, I need pouty lessons - I must not be doing it right, as it doesn't work on hubby. The only thing that works is a back rub or sex, and it is sometimes hard to accomodate him on that. I have found that the mall tends to frown on it....
  8. Nothing like that "hands on" experience is there, Chuck??? Smoo, I love your idea, but you really ought to give some thought to the ones Donna suggested also, especially that last one.
  9. Of course we're still friends - we will just never go on all day shoe shopping adventure together . My friend who we are cruising with in 2 weeks, is a shopaholic like me, so we literally shop till we drop everytime we are together, so when you and I do get the chance to hang out together, I'll be content to lay by the pool or on the beach, with a drink in hand, just won't be a beer!!!
  10. See Greg.....lol Those toys she has do cost....lol Sorry Cheryl could not resist....lol Yeah, but Chuck, my "toys" which normally involve bling, are investments and increase in value. Greg's toys depreciate and break down and then have to be replaced with new ones, so mine are actually better buys!!! Hey, I can put a spin on anything...
  11. Smoo - I think hubby will be hoping you rub off on me (not the boobs part - I already got that one very well covered), but the hatred for shopping and the indifference to shoes. C'mon, admit it - don't you see a pair sometimes that just set your heart to racing???
  12. I never thought it was that unusual - I figured most ladies took that many!!! Sharon, I normally do not wear all the shoes I take, but I like having extras with me because I never know what I will be in the mood to wear. The first time we went to Paris, I had to buy another suitcase there just to hold all the shoes I bought. I can't recall that I have ever bought a pair while on a cruise though.
  13. he was the one who decided not to retire!!!! That'll teach him, won't it!!!!
  14. Hey, my shoes are very serious business!!!! Ya' thought I was kidding about having a suitcase packed full of shoes, for my upcoming cruise, didn't ya? The problem is that I can't get them all in there, so now I need to have Greg bring up a bigger bag from the basement because I still have about 10 pr. I need to add, and they will just not go in there. Greg totally does not understand my absolute obsession with shoes - I have been on a bender lately so I probably have close to 400 prs. now. Here's a few pics of my attempts to pack them for the trip but have given up until he brings up another suitcase. I truly get a feeling of euphoria when I walk into a shoe store. Here is the suitcase with row 1 laid down... Row 2 is in and still not enough room....
  15. Donna, given the circumstances, I can certainly understand why you choose not to take your older boy on a cruise. I also totally comprehend how special that one on one time is to you. My grandson and I used to have "Noni (that's what he calls me) and Scotty" day once every 2 weeks - we would go to lunch, then to the Children's Museum or the zoo or wherever he picked - just the 2 of us. We don't get to do that now that he is in school, but it sure was special. You are signed up for Loco, aren't you? We aren't doing the Liberty cruise as it occurs just 2 months after we get back from our upcoming cruise, and 1 a year is all I can squeeze out of hubby....
  16. Well Chuck, you always win every argument that way, don't you? Can't speak for others, but I will say it is almost impossible to offend me......
  17. Camera, water bottle, American Express card - St. Thomas has GREAT shopping!!!
  18. So Donna, how do you get by with taking one child on a cruise and not the other? My grandson is 5 and I would like to take him but not for another few years - already have a trip planned to Disney for him next summer for his 6th birthday. I think a cruise would be great because someone else can keep him occuppied part of the time...
  19. Me too......I now got to wait until my kids grow old before I can get any toys..... Our kids have grown old so to Greg, it's the more toys the merrier. A new, bigger, faster ATV found it's way into the garage just last night, so I will have to take a new pic of the man with his playthings. He has other playthings too, but I carry those around with me, and those don't cost him anything. Well, actually, those probably cost him the most in one way or another!!!
  20. Linea35, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.
  21. Yep Vick, they never give them up - they just get more expensive the older they get....
  22. Frank has always said....be careful what you ask for.... So, can I assume that Lady Z is Deb? If so, hi Deb - I am Cheryl. We will be sailing together on the Loco cruise....
  23. I assume that is him in your avatar Donna - does he like Camp Carnival? We didn't start cruising until ours were young teenagers, but they loved the teen programs. You can sit him next to me if you want - there is absolutely nothing I love hearing more than the sound of children's laughter. Ours never wanted to go to dinner with us, that was before the Lido buffet was open at night but they preferred the 24 hr. pizzaria with their friends to dinner with mom and dad.
  24. Enterprise advertises that they will pick you up anywhere so you might check with them....
