  1. Apparently, Greg plans to be in the bar with Bill during Tea Time, and I don't have the kind of pull that Smoo does at home. We have one of those danged "man is the king of the castle" type of things going on and as it has worked for 30 yrs., don't think he is going to be receptive to change - not that I would want to - it works for both of us. But he has no plans of donning a goofy hat and going to a girly tea party. Can I still come?
  2. Thanks for posting the link Chuck. It was a beautiful commercial.
  3. I think I will probably go with the Queen of Hearts Tiara. I love the white bunny top hat, so I think greg may get it but I may get him the Tweedle Dum beanie because he may come closer to wearing it than the other. I don't think it matters if any of us have the same hat.
  4. You can buy the hats on eBay too. I am waivering between the queen of hearts tiara, which I think suits me more, and the white bunny top hat that makes me smile too. To tell you the truth I doubt that I will get hubby to do it but I am going to buy one for him and pack it anyway - maybe after the 6th or 7th Bud Light, he won't even notice that he looks ridiculous...
  5. Hey Loco's - it's SmooMoo's birthday. Happy birthday girl!!!!
  6. On our first cruise, we were in Nassau on the 4th of July. The ship actually stayed in port overnight and there was a fireworks show that you could see from the ship. A military ship was docked next to us and they had lots flags draped over the sides of the ship and allowed visitors to come on deck - of course, that was way before 9/11. I don't think we will ever cruise over Thanksgiving or Christmas because I want my family around me then, but I would love to do a New Year's Eve cruise someday.
  7. Vicky, is your mind always in party mode??? I'll bet you are a real hoot when you really are drinking!!!
  8. I don't think ours has ever been below $1000. I have a feeling it will be higher than ever on the Loco cruise. I don't know why I think that our bar bill will be costlier than usual, but it is my prediction it will be.
  9. Hey Ed - yes, excitement is starting to set in. We had to book this one so far in advance because we are sailing with our best friends and she was undergoing radiation at the time and the dr. thought she would need about a year to be back to her old self, so we put a little padding into that, just in case. She is doing great, feeling fantastic and is counting down the days too!!!
  10. crobertson, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.
  11. WE booked the first 10 thru Cruises Only and we were only charged the flat rate, except the last 2, which we did have to pay the extra. The one that is coming up, we booked directly thru Carnival and our travel planner there said we would have to pay the extra to pick our room. The last few times we have paid the extra, we were also being given a 2 catgeory upgrade so maybe that is why we have to pay extra to secure the room of our choice. We have a few travel agents on this board - do you guys have an answer...
  12. Because Carnival will give you a guranteed balcony if you book into a balcony category, but they will give you no guarantee of where on the ship that cabin is. As I feel too much sway in the front part of the ship, I cannot sail there so it is best for us to pay the extra $100 and be able to choose our cabin, which I always pick at almost exactly mid ship. If it is a ship we have sailed on before, I choose the same cabin we have had before as I know it is a good location for us. Our friends who are sailing with us next month also paid the extra $100 to choose their cabin to guaantee they were next door to us so we could open the balcony wall and spend time together out there. I don't know about other lines, but Carnival has always said there is a charge to choose your cabin at the time of booking. That just started a few years ago though...
  13. Congrats on the SDM status Ed. I think you, Robert and at least one other Crazie are sailing on the same day, so congrats to all of you. We will go into SDM mode 3 weeks from today. Since we booked this cruise 15 months in advance, it seems like we have been counting down forever!!! Hope you and Roe have the best cruise ever...
  14. Okay, as usual, I am confused. I already have my cabin number, I think, but now there is talk of registering your booking number. Isn't that done when you actually do the booking? Do I actually have an assigned aft cabin or not - please be gentle - I am under the influence of mind altering drugs at this time...want some?????
  15. ARVIDS - you have been missed buddy. You ignored our thread some time back asking where you had ventured off too. I know it sounds like you are busy but you gotta get back to giving us our Arvids fix and posting those pics that just crack me up - you know, like the one of you on the lawnmower in the snow, wearing your swimsuit, but it was okay because you were proudly displaying your cruise crazies pin!!! Don't stay away so long!!!!

  20. Baked Alaska - I had it for the first time on our first cruise.
  21. Congrats Bev - hope you have a wonderful trip and a very happy birthday. We sail 6 days behind you on another Funship...
  22. We always pay the extra ($100 on Carnival) to pick our cabin when booking. It is always a balcony cabin, midship. We do have our first aft cabin booked so I will have to wait and see if I switch from a midship dweller to a backsider....
  23. Just so you ladies know, I have not committed myself to do this. I will have to be very drunk to even consider it - which may not be a good thing for your act because things will start coming off!!! Kinda' like that Brad Paislay song "Tequilla makes her clothes fall off". Bobbie will be in Vegas - maybe you can get her to be a gone - gone girl.
  24. The towels animals are a go but as for the other - I have a sign hanging in the guest room that says "This is a bed and breakfast. Feel free to make both".
