  1. Sailmeaway, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.
  2. We will be directly below the pool area on our upcoming Conquest cruise. I noticed this after our cabins had already been booked and called our rep at Carnival. She assured me that she has been in that exact area on the same ship and she did not hear noise from the Lido deck. I find it hard to believe that we will not be bothered by this. I don't mind the noise when we are sitting out on our balcony, that is to be expected, but I am more concerned about being disturbed during the night. I had hoped we could move down a deck, but in looking at the deck plans, I realized that those are suites. We are traveling with friends and this will be their 2nd cruise, but first on Carnival so I am hoping that we will not be having sleepless nights.
  3. Yes, he is single - I can't figure out why as he is quite a catch. I thought he would soon be announcing that he proposed to his girlfriend but now he says he thinks he is about ready to call it quits with her. I imagine I am somewhat to blame for that - I waited on them hand and foot and now they can't find a woman willing to do that. If there are any available women out there, here is a pic of him with one of my dogs....
  4. Unfortuneately, my son informed me just about 30 minutes ago that the company he works for owns shoebuy.com and he gave me a code to get 25% off - I just bought 3 pairs - all formal evening shoes - for the cruise. Yes, I know there is only 2 formal nights, but I just couldn't make up my mind!!! I say unfortuneately because I have a feeling I will be giving them a lot of my money, all under the guise of saving money...
  5. I usually take a very large suitcase, in which I carry another collapsible bag for all the things we undoubtedly buy. I also have a smaller suitcase that has nothing but shoes in it, as I will take anywhere between 10 and 20 pairs (yes, I am a shoe-aholic). Then I have a carry-on that I carry my laptop, meds, cell phone charger, etc. in. Formal wear goes in hubby's garment bag.
  6. nonilynn, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same. My grandson has called me Noni since he was old enough to talk and even though he is now almost 5, I am still Noni to him.
  7. PunxyBob, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.
  8. Thanks Mercedes, I went thru the tutorial and found it very informative. Will have to pass this on to hubby and see if he wants to do it that way or the "old" way....
  9. Dreamz, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.
  10. Wonder how you acquire the luggage tags if you use the eDoc system, as they always come in the packet with the other documents?
  11. Hi Joe. The Fantasy is the smallest ship we have been on and I believe it is around 78,000 tons. The biggest thusfar is the Destiny and Victory at 101,000 tons. We are booked on the Conquest which is 110,000. I think I prefer the bigger ships, but that is mainly because I am afraid I would feel too much movement on a smaller ship.
  12. Pam, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.

  17. Chuck, I just love St. Thomas. We have taken a boat over to St. John, and it is just beautiful over there. There s a nice shopping area right there at the pier, but as this is your first time, a trip into town is a must. We always catch a "taxi" in. Most of the time, these are open air trolley type vehicles. My son collects Harley Davidson shirts, so we always have to make a stop at the Harley dealer that is right in the middle of town.

    DDM

Boba, congrats on the DDM status. I'll be there in another 76 days or so. We booked our next one 15 months out due to some medical issues our traveling companion was undergoing at the time and I must say, it seems like forever!
  23. Arvids, enjoyed the pics, as always. There were a few there that might make one thing you have a fascination with butts...
  24. Hello again Bonnie. You should get plently of opionions on this subject - especially with the weekend coming up and people will have more time here. As I said in the other thread, we have only sailed Carnival, but I can attest to the fact that they will keep your 10 yr. old very busy. I know that the other lines offer children's programs also but have no experience with them. There is also Disney, I saw a special on the travel channel recently about the different cruise lines and they said that Disney does not have onboard casinos though, which is a little funtime for the parents. I look forward to reading the different opinions that will more than likely be posted on your question...
  25. Guil, may all your days at sea be smooth and filled with sun and fun and may all your days in port be adventurous. Anchors aweigh……
