Stephen, I have always wanted to do a cruise "family reunion" but can't get others "onboard". One SIL said she would not like it if she could not see land, my other SIL and BIL went on their first cruise last year (you might remember the story about him losing his underwear and going on a shipwide search for it) - anyway, they didn't care much for cruising. My MIL and FIL were the only ones who showed any interest, so the subject was dropped. I agree with Lisa that you should be getting some compensation in the way of amenities for a group that large.

Howard, I'm doing a doc dance for you, but have to add for the first time in many years, we are actually getting a refund, so won't have to send that check on April 15th. I retired in 2005, and Greg had always had me take the maximum deductions because he said he would rather I get to keep more of my money and he'd make up the deficit at tax time. Last year, when we filed, he still had to pay on what I had made in 2005, but I didn't make a dime in 2006 so we are getting a really nice refund. I would say "let's spend it on a couple of cruises" but with my kitchen remodel beginning on Monday, I'm sure it will get spent!!!
