  1. I would also go for the one that was going to a place I hadn't been before. I haven't been to Costa Maya or Belize and would love to visit both some day. While I love St. Thomas, I have been there enough times that I wouldn't choose it as a port. But then, you and Rita are such lovebirds, you are going to have a wonderful, romantic time no matter where you go!!! I think you 2 would have a good time even if the ship never left Canaveral...

  10. We are booked into cabin #8301 on the Conquest. When I looked at the deck plan for above and below us, I noticed that we are directly under the lido deck pool area. When I discovered this, I called our trip planner at Carnival and she said she had stayed in a cabin in that area on the same ship and that you really cannot hear the noise from above. I just read a review on the ship on Travelocity and in that review, it mentions the noise from the deck chairs being moved was heard in the cabins below. Has anyone ever been directly below the pool/party area on one of the newer ships, and if so, what is the noise level in the cabin?
  11. Maria, sounds like my ideal day, but make that cup of coffee a margarita. When the kids were younger and went with us, we had to go in the summertime, but for the past 7 years or so, we cruise mainly in Oct. or Nov. Love children, have children and a grandchild but really do prefer to go while school is in session. Although it does amaze me the number of children that are onboard even during the school year. When starting the process of booking, we decide where we want to go and then determinine what ships have that itinerary
  12. Karen, I really enjoyed your pics - I am suffering from winter weather blues, and was able to live vicariously thru your photos - especially those of the gorgeous shorelines. And Maria, what are you talking about - you looked beautiful....
  13. Just like a teenager, huh, Chris? Tell them not to do something and you know it is the first thing they are going to do....
  14. Mercedes, great idea on the bubble wrap - adding that one to my list too. I always save the bubble wrap from any packages I get because the grandson loves to pop the bubbles and when he gets bored, I whip out a piece of bubble wrap.
  15. Life, in general, is hazardous and confusing to me - well, more confusing than hazardous! But then, I am old an easily confused!
  16. There is a member here, Sue, who wins all kinds of stuff - really good things (cars, cruise, etc). Maybe she will share her secret with you....
  17. Robert, I sooooo wanted to ask that question, but didn't want to appear like I was the only one who had no clue what was going on. Glad you posted it....Okay Jason, what does this mean?
  18. Janice, I do take a steam iron. It works well - in fact, I used it on my DIL's wedding gown the night before the big event. I also take a small alarm clock - I know there are wake-up calls available, but I just like having a clock in the room and prefer one that I can see in the dark. I also take an extension cord, as electric outlets are not overly abundant in the room.
  19. Maria, congrats on the new booking. Are Chris and Karen going on this one? I know you were talking about another one together...

  22. Rose, hope you and Howie have a wonderful trip...hopefully it will give you a chance to "charge up your batteries" for the busy tax season ahead....
  23. Joey and Stephen, you have both written your last post from an interior cabin. As soon as you click "add reply" just one more time - the view changes dramatically. If it just the anticipation that is keeping you from posting, don't let it put you off...you get to go thru this all again when you reach 500 posts, then 1,000 posts, then 5,000 posts, then 10,000....
