  1. Okay, I have question...we use the collapsible hampers in the motorhome, and they are great. But on a cruise, I am wondering how you pack the hamper full of dirty clothes in your suitcase.
  2. nmrizzo, glad to have you aboard the greatest forum afloat. I feel so at home here, and I am sure that in no time, you will be saying the same.

  4. I bought a whole set of the Space Bags for the motorhome. I thought they would be great for storing linens and towels (clean) that I keep in the RV all the time. ON TV, it shows them getting the bags almost completely flat - I didn't have that kind of luck. I did get some air out of them with the vacuum hose, but nothing like the commercials. Last time we were out at the rv, I looked and they had expanded back to the same size they were when I put the things in them. I followed the directions, so have no idea what I did wrong. I am glad I saw this thread - I am going to buy some of thise new XL baggies and use them for the purpose you guys mentioned on our next cruise...

  6. Howard, congrats on the new booking. We sailed from San Juan last cruise and could have kicked ourselves for not flying in a day early and spending some time sight seeing. We have sailed to San Juan twice before, but the ship always arrived in port around 5:00 p.m and sailed out again that night so we should have made time to see more of the town, when we had the chance.
  7. Looks like you and JohnG may possibly be on the same cruise. We did the Destiny again on our last cruise. In Dominica, we got a cab and the guy gave us a 2 hr. tour of the island for $20 each. He took us all over and showed us interesting sights, and then took us up to a waterfall that you have to pay to get into, then it is just a short walk to the observation deck - can't remember the name of the falls. After he took us back to the pier, we did some shopping, which was just right there across from it. Dominica really is a beautiful island. Here is a couple of pics I took of hubby there. You can see how lovely that port is.... Okay, now that I have done the math, looks like you will be sailing the week before John.
  8. Rose, I really enjoyed your pics. In #18, can you tell me what that is that looks like it has lights on it out in the water?

  14. Enjoyed the show Keith - took my mind off the fact that we have sub zero temps right now. I had to show Greg the pic of your matching outfits - I have been working on making a couple of wrap skirts (tropical print, cruise ships on the borders) with matching shirts for him. I told him I wasn't the only one who thought it was cute and very festive to have outfits like that - I told him to just look at how happy you looked!!! He is fine with it, but I am wondering if that is because he really thinks it will go the way of most of my projects and get laid aside before I am finished...
  15. In Nov., we will be cruising with our best friends. This will be our first sailing with anyone other than our kids. We have cabins next to each other and told our agent at Carnival that we would like to have the balcony wall unlocked so we can open or shut it, as we see fit. Sometimes we may want privacy and there will be times that we want to just sit and visit with them while enjoying the scenery. We have discussed the fact that we are not joined at the hip. As this is only their 2nd cruise, and we have been to all but one of the ports several times, they will be more inclined to want to take an organized tour, where we normally prefer to see the sights on our own. We have all agreed that it will be fine and we will just see them back on board when it is time to depart that port. It may be a little different for us because they live in Texas and we live in Colorado so we do not see them all the time - normally just once a year. However, the cruise will make it twice this year as they will come out for a week in the summertime. You should talk to your travelling companions beforehand about your feelings, so that they will not be hurt when the time comes. I am sure they will appreciate your candor and you may find that they have been pondering the same issues.

  20. Peddler, our best friends, whom we will be cruising with, live in your neck of the woods. They used to live in Dallas (as did we) but about 5 yrs. ago, built a gorgeous cedar and stone house up on Lake Whitney. She is a realtor based out of Hillsboro. I am not sure how far Waco is from them, but that is where they go to the dr. or for shopping, so must not be too far.
  21. Chris, hope you and Karen have a fabulous trip. Wow, I can't imagine a 4 hr. drive to the airport. Ours used to take about an hr. but then they put in a toll expressway and the entrance is a mile from our house so we can get there in around 20 minutes.

  23. Joey, hope you and the other crazies that will be sailing on the summit, have a wonderful time. Now the real countdown begins....
