  4. As an additional attraction on its new programme of exotic fly-cruises to the Canary Islands, West Africa and the Cape Verde Islands in spring 2013, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has designated four of these Braemar departures as 'all-inclusive,' so that drinks – house wines and spirits, beers and soft drinks – will be included in the price. Guests who have already booked these cruises will be upgraded to the 'all-inclusive' package automatically; the offer is valid on bookings made up to and including 31st July 2012. The price of a Fred. Olsen fly-cruise already covers return flights to Tenerife from London Gatwick or Manchester, with the exclusive aircraft charter, transfers and onboard accommodation, plus all meals, entertainment and port/airport taxes. The Fred. Olsen 'all-inclusive' offer extends to drinks on board the ship only, and guests will be responsible for their own gratuities and any additional spending on board the ship, such as spa treatments and purchases from the onboard shops Nathan Philpot, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: "We know that many of our guests are on a tight budget in these difficult times, and we are delighted that we can offer this very generous inclusive price for four of our exciting new fly-cruise itineraries – including 'African Beaches and Tropical Islands' and 'Morocco, Madeira and the Canaries' – which will be departing from London Gatwick and Manchester airports between 17th February and 17th March 2013. "With this added drinks package, these cruises offer exceptional value for money and it will be easier for our guests to budget and allow more leeway for spending on other holiday extras, such as shore excursions. We would advise guests to book early to make sure that they can take advantage of these excellent deals!" The cruises offering this special extra are: M1305FC – seven-night 'Canary Islands Discovery' cruise, departing on 17th February 2013 - This fly-cruise visits a galaxy of Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Lanzarote and La Gomera. M1306FC – 11-night 'African Beaches and Tropical Islands' cruise, departing 24th February 2013 - This fly-cruise visits Dakar (Senegal) and Banjul (The Gambia), as well as the Cape Verde Islands. M1309FC – 10-night 'Morocco, Madeira and the Canaries' cruise, departing 7th March 2013 - This fly-cruise calls at several islands in the Canaries and additionally Morocco. M1310FC – eight-night 'Lisbon and the Canary Islands', departing 17th March 2012, arriving into Dover - This cruise is Braemar's return voyage from Tenerife back to Dover. Guests fly out and join the ship in Tenerife, and visit Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and then Lisbon (Portugal), en route to Dover.

A celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the new Carnival Japan office in Tokyo today, marking the expansion of one of the largest vacation companies in the world into this growing cruise market. Operated by Carnival Corporation & plc, Carnival Japan was created to oversee the largest deployment ever by a global cruise line in the Japanese market with the launch of Princess Cruises homeport sailings, specially developed for Japanese travelers. At approximately 8 am Tuesday, Norwegian Star responded to a call from the US Coast Guard who had received a distress notification from Avenir, a sailing yacht, stating that they had lost their rudder and their ability to steer. Avenir was located approximately 54 nautical miles from Norwegian Star in the Atlantic Ocean. Norwegian Star's Captain Kenneth Harstrom immediately diverted course to rescue the three men and three women aboard. Upon reaching the Avenir at noon, Norwegian Star's crew worked to rescue the passengers and quickly transfer all six occupants on board the ship. At approximately 1 pm, the sailing yacht passengers and rescue team were all safely aboard Norwegian Star. The ship which was sailing from New York City to Bermuda continued on its route and will arrive Wednesday morning, June 27 as scheduled. According to the Captain of the Avenir, the group left Bermuda on June 24, 2012 and was delivering the Avenir to Bristol, Rhode Island. Norwegian Star sails from New York on Sundays for Bermuda, where she stays for three full days before returning to New York.
