On a Cruise, Maintaining and Losing Weight
Gymbrat333 replied to Jason's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
Sounds like you've developed great lifestyle fitness habits. I loaded the MyFitnessPal app to my iPhone and though my intentions are good, I haven't been very faithful lately. But now that I have a cruise coming up in 4 weeks, I am back on plan, so hopefully I will be ready and fit for the streets of San Francisco! Good for you! Have a great time on your cruise. I eat healthy during the week, and allow myself 2 cheat meals on the weekend, which usually consists of frozen yogurt or ice cream with chocolate sprinkles, and I make myself a pizza on whole wheat crust with fat free cheese, onions, and 75% fat free pepperoni, or I will make tacos with lean ground beef or chciken breast. My favorite quote is Eat Healthy 80% of the time, Enjoy yourself 20% of the time, and exercise all of the time. -
On a Cruise, Maintaining and Losing Weight
Gymbrat333 replied to Jason's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
I exercise everyday at the gym on the ship, but do not diet. I eat lots of sweets(my favorite), drink lots of water, no alcohol at all, I eat a lot of bread, but do not put any butter on it, and avoid deep fried foods. I do not weigh myself the day I return home from the ship because I am super bloated due to the sodium in foods. I weigh myself 2 days after, and usually do not gain weight and sometimes a pound or 2. When I eat out at restaurants at home, I will eat pasta, but ask for the sauce on the side, and put very little on it. I always season my foods with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, onions and garlic because I don't like salt at all. When I eat anything with salt, I get super bloated, and then super hungry and I want to keep eating. -
I'm so glad to be back at Cruisecrazies. I've been trying to log in for a few months and was having difficulty. I booked The Carnival Breeze 3 weeks ago and will be sailing on July 14th. I can't wait to write a review and tell you all about it!

Cruise preference. Ship or destination or both

I always book on Carnival sailing out of Miami since I live 45 minutes away from the port. I book Carnival because they are the most affordable. One year, I was looking for the 3 day weekend cruise. Carnival's price was $299 and NCL Sky was $99 so I booked NCL. That was the only time that I sailed on another line. I would love to sail on RCL, but they are too expensive. -

JUST BOOKED CRUISE ON CARNIVAL LIBERTY
Gymbrat333 replied to Gymbrat333's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
Thanks so much, Cheryl! The Valor(my favorite ship) and The Liberty are sister ships(largest Carnival ships), but they have added new bars to the Liberty and a burrito bar as well as Guy's Burger(Guy Fiery from The Food Network). The Destiny is much samller than both The Valor and the Liberty, and will be refurbished next year and will be called Carnival Sunshine instead of Destiny. -

Thanks so much, Cruisetarp, AndiD, Hazelson, Wecruiseoto, and Shari2! Cruisetarp, I've already listed it in the Who's Cruising Forums. Wecruisetoo, I know it feels amazing to have booked the cruise! 3 more weeks until sailing! Shari2, I've sailed on The Carnival Liberty too, but not since they just refurbished it and added new features to it! I can't wait to see it. -

Thanks so much, Rogue & Keith and Rita! -
I finally booked my cruise for this month. I always book it at the last minute since I live here in Miami. I had planned on booking the 6 day on the Valor, but all of the cabins were sold out. I booked the 7 day Carnival Liberty for July 28th. The countdown is on!

A cruiser gets bumped due to overbooking
Gymbrat333 replied to jacketwatch's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
I'm so sorry that this happened to you. They should have given you more on board credit since you had a longer drive and more expensive parking fees. A few years ago, Carnival called me 3 days before my cruise to inform me that they had overbooked a 4 day cruise on the Imagination that I had booked for my mother's birthday. They offered us the next voyage the following week which was a 5 day cruise. I wanted to accept it since I was on summer vacation, but my mother couldn't cruise that week because she had to do the closing of the month at her job. They allowed us to stay on the ship and called someone else. They were calling those who live in Miami. -
Congratulations! Have a great time!

Supper funny! Thanks for sharing! -
Great tips! I have been taking my nephew on my cruises since he was 8. He is now 13. He has such a great time, and attends all of the fun activities that Carnival plans for them.

Is there anything you DO NOT do on a cruise?
Gymbrat333 replied to gogetter's topic in Carnival Cruise Line
No Diet, internet, or casino. I tried the specialty restaurant one night, and the food was just as delicious in the main dining room. No need to return to the Specialty restaurant. -
What is one of your favorite activities to attend?
Gymbrat333 replied to GottaCruz's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
I love to watch the Newlywed Game, Karaoke, Men's Hairy Chest Contest(it's hilarious), the game shows,Trivia(I have participated and won), and the night shows. -
Now Available - Pre and Post Cruise Diets

Thanks so much, Cheryl! A cheat meal is a non healthy meal such as desserts or having a meal at a restaurant. For cardio, I do the Stepmill at the gym, and the elliptical.
