  1. Actually I needed/wanted to know because i plan on calling to verify all the reservations once we get closer to travel time.. good thing is we are one of the first to arrive (11/6) so i plan on making sure all the crazie are set.. Glad you and Andrea are all set.. That will be great! Thanks Joey!
  2. Me too!! Everything's starting to fall into place - got the hotel reservations but still not a flight. I'm hoping for prices to go down....but they probably won't. Hey deb.. I need to ask.......any trouble making your hotel reservations? Funny you should ask....I tried last night - 1st gentleman I talked to didn't know what I was talking about when I mentioned CruiseCrazies....put me on hold several times - kept coming back and asking me different questions. Then a 2nd gentleman gets on the phone....he knows what I'm talking about but also puts me on hold several times - the last hold being almost 10 minutes. I hung up! I called this morning....another gentleman took my info, etc......and no problem....had a reservation just like that! Needless to say there was language barrier with all three but the final one I understood and he understood me. Aren't you sorry you asked?

  4. I would love to see Cuba but I'm afraid it's going to be a long wait!
  5. and why not? I don't want to get dressed! this is my morning coffee, coffee before I "am awake" 2 simple words - ROOM SERVICE and here is two more ..."Thank You!" OK...I didn't know I could order liquor from room service. I couldn't on Carnival. I didn't know that either. I was just going to ask about that!
  6. I've never done it but I'd like to. This may sound very ignorant...but what does it entail?
  7. I have brought the "legal" amount of wine aboard before. I've also pre-ordered it to be in the cabin when we arrive. Also my TA always gifts a bottle or two. So I'm all set....especially since DH doesn't drink wine I always pack my own corkscrew though!
  8. Yeah I once brought a steamer on board too. I'm not a "goody-two-shoes" by any means I just don't want to see anybody get into trouble.
  9. They sure are! I was flipping through it and highlighting stuff in it this afternoon. BTW - under things not to pack was a coffee maker - absolutely forbidden. I hate to be a spoilsport. Just reporting the facts
  10. I tried ordering that on-line a couple of weeks ago and it wouldn't go thru... That happened the first time I tried to order it online. I tried again the next day and it went through. I got it about 10 days later.
  11. I received my "2009/10 Celebrity's Caribbean" brochure yesterday. I highly recommend it especially if you've never sailed with Celebrity before. I ordered it off their website for FREE (my favorite 4 letter word ).
  12. We have only done it three times and were very happy with the results and thought it was well worth the extra $$$ we paid. The food was superb but...what was extra special - the service was more personal.
  13. Without sounding like a snob - which I'm far from. Like Joey I like to get what I paid for. Now I have been on 7 cruises on 4 different lines and all but one had very attentive cabin stewards - called me by name and remembered little things that we like or don't like etc. I also had the experience on this same ship of being ignored while in the main theater (I wasn't the only one) by the bar staff. I finally learned I had to get my own drink if I wanted one during the show. That's unacceptable. Even though I'm perfectly capable of walking to the bar and getting my own drink - when I'm in the theater (just like in a restaurant) I shouldn't have to get it myself. Again that may sound childish..but I'm on vacation. And it wasn't because these people were super busy. Some of them were so busy yucking it up - they just didn't care. I expect better service than that. I remember on our Alaska cruise on the Norwegian Sun we had a fabulous server in the Observation Lounge where we spent alot of "at sea" time. She would always rush to our table with those little snacks and always made sure our drinks were made "extra special" - very attentive. And believe me she was rewarded for it. We even gave her a little extra at the end of our cruise. That's what I'm talkin' about!
  14. It doesn't bother me. The only unpleasant experience we had was taking a ferry from Cozumel to the mainland for an excursion once. It was so choppy and rough that it was the first time in my (cruising) life I even came close to being seasick.
  15. I like to try different foods but I'm with Andrea on the sushi - not gonna happen!
  16. WOW!!! 7 more months?! I hope it flies by MaryLou and Joey - that's one reason DH said is was OK for me to go....was the prices - can't beat 'em!
  17. Sounds interesting.....especially for families.....but too big for my taste!
  18. We have never been on a ship that offered you champagne upon embarkation. If we had I'd definitely imbibe well you will soon! Good to know!
  19. Thanks Joey! I saw a show featuring the Pearl on the Travel Channel awhile back. On our last cruise we saw the ship at one of our ports.
