  1. BON VOYAGE, CARMEN! I am so jealous!!! Have a fabulous time!!!
  2. I never have. It almost sounds too good to be true. I'd be very cautious if I were you and find out more details before you send any money!
  3. My first cruise was only 6 years ago. I'll have to agree with Mary Lou. Even though my first was with Norwegian (Freestyle), some people don't even dress "smart casual" on a formal night now and really don't seem to care! I think it shows a lack of respect for your fellow passengers. Oh well - it's still the best vacation there is !
  4. My favorite lunch buffet would probably be on the Star Princess. It was always well stocked, fresh and a great variety to choose from.
  5. We had an oceanview room on our 1st 2 cruises but opted to spring for a balcony room on our Alaskan cruise and have been hooked ever since. So cruises 4, 5 and 6 were balcony staterooms and I wouldn't have it any other way!
  6. Great review, Larry! As I've mentioned before we were on this cruise in Feb.. I too was surprised there was no hand sanitizer stations to be found. Our previous 2 cruises were with Princess and they (hand sanitizers) were everywhere!
  7. I have never been on the Duck Tour but I do know that Boston has an excellent Subway system.
  8. I agree with you, Joey. I'd rather not know and just think it's part of the fare. And, unfortunately Jenn I'm afraid it might affect the tips.
  9. I have to agree that San Juan is the worst because of the airport hassle - security and just general disorganization. We were just there in February. Previously we were there in 2006 and it was so bad we were hesitant about sailing out of there this year. I found the port itself OK (once you get there)!
  10. Check this out! You may soon be charged for how much you weigh! http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...&refer=home
  11. We were on that cruise on the AOS in Feb. I thought it was great also - not only the ship but the ports of call ! Glad you had a great time!
  12. My favorite port of departure would probably be Vancouver because I think it was the most scenic. I've only departed from 3 other ports -Miami, San Juan and Fort Lauderdale.
  13. Thanks Joey! Very informative but also kind of makes you mad !
  14. We stay up later and sleep in a little later but I, for one, still don't get 8 hours of shut-eye on a cruise. I can always sleep when I get home.
  15. I miss the salty snacks also - potato chips, popcorn, peanuts, etc. We always said that they should have these available at the bars. I think it would make people buy more drinks !
  16. I also watched "1 vs 100" and enjoyed it. I am a bit of a game show fanatic. I don't know if anybody watched and enjoyed "Daybreak" - I did. It was cancelled before it even finished the season. Maybe the DH and I were the only big fans! We are also big fans of "Survivor" and "Amazing Race".
  17. Welcome, Gisane! We are practically neighbors. I live in suburban Detroit. We have visited and "passed through" Ontario many times. One of our favorite places we've camped is Awenda Provincial Park Please join us at CruiseConnections.
  18. We have done both, depending on the humidity. If it's not too bad we leave it open. I prefer fresh air to AC but if the fresh air is too hot and humid the AC comes on!!! I also like to keep the drapes open and have the sunrise wake me up "naturally" !
  19. We've been on the Star Princess. It's a beautiful ship and I'm sure these additions will make it that much better!
  20. Princess is our favorite cruise line. Glad to hear it!
  21. Jason -this is a great addition!!! I, for one, will be checking this out frequently.
  22. I like to have a more relaxing lunch at the buffet. Sometimes (especially sea days) dine by the pool
