  1. redrose71 [This is the friendliest cruise site. Please post often so we can get to know you and you, us!
  2. I always make sure I get my hair done (cut, color and highlights) a couple days before we go. Don't want those gray roots peeking out !!!
  3. Rose, it sounds like just what you need. Good for you
  4. We have never taken duct tape on a cruise before, maybe scotch or masking tape. Since Jenn was the one to come up with this question and seems to be a big fan of duct tape, I just wondered if she watched "Red Green" on CBC or had seen "Duct Tape Forever" (the movie) or if anyone else has seen these. Great shows!!!
  5. BON VOYAGE, CARMEN!!! Have a wonderful cruise on your favorite ship!!!
  6. I'm not big on hot beverages but when I do have them it's either hot tea or hot chocolate. My DH's favorite is espresso.
  7. Joey, I am very jealous - 3 cruises in 13 months! I love riding the train. We've taken Amtrak from Detroit - Chicago and back a couple times and we've ridden on Via Rail from Windsor, ON to Toronto - nice ride!
  8. i wont say a word.... Joey - You are so bad
  9. does anyone else think that lady is LOUD That wasn't the word I was thinking..........LOL I second that, Rose!
  10. How horrible!!! What a terrible thing for her family to go through!
  11. but arent there instances when the guest is just plain wrong? That's true, but you have to make them think they are right and rectify the situation accordingly. (Does that make any sense?)
  12. The customer is always right. Listen! Listen! Listen!
  13. Sure, I could live without them but it just adds a little "extra" to the cruise experience. I, too am guilty of taking a picture of the towel animal every evening. As for the chocolates, my DH and DS take care of those
  14. Howard - Sad, but true. I can also remember when gas was 29 cents/gal.
  15. We have never had any luggage lost (knock on wood). But, on a Princess cruise last year we received a call from the luggage dock that someone from our stateroom had to meet security at the employee entrance and identify "something suspicious" in one of our pieces of luggage that showed up on the x-ray. Long story short - it was some cords and attachments for my DH's camera. On the x-ray, it kind of resembled some sort of bomb-like object. After seeing what they saw on the x-ray I totally understood why they questioned it. I had to give them permission to open it up and inspect it. I was escorted back to the ship and that piece of luggage was in our room within the half hour.
  16. We got our passports in 2002 just before our 2nd cruise. At that time it wasn't required for cruising but we noticed how it made "things" much easier if you had one.
  17. It was definitely my idea. It was like pulling teeth to get the DH to comply but once he did and went on that first cruise, he was hooked!!
  18. When we were on a Princess cruise you had a choice of Traditional or Anytime Dining
  19. I too enjoy the Anytime Dining on Princess. I like having the choice of when and where to dine and meeting different people every night.
  20. Congrats on the docs!!! An Alaskan cruise is still my favorite. I'm jealous!!!
  21. Are you going on Adventure of the Seas? We went on that cruise the end of February. Great time!!!
  22. We do a little planning - looking through the brochure, excursions, etc., but usually just "wing-it"!
