  1. I am definitely leaning towards this cruise. If not with my family, I have a friend that's very interested. Being fairly new to "Cruise Crazies" I am really looking forward to meeting everybody. You sound like a great and fun group of people!!! Early November is perfect! I prefer a balcony cabin mid-ship but aft also works for me. And, Joey your lunch idea sounds great!!!
  2. We prefer balcony, mid-ship but also depends on price.
  3. I totally agree with Joey and Steve. Just set a price for the cruise and quit nickel and diming us to death.
  4. We have posed for some but not always. We've only bought 2 - one in Alaska (with costumed "black bears") and one when embarking in San Juan in 2005.
  5. Out of the 6 ships I have been on, so far I would have to say the Star Princess. It's a large ship but not a mega-ship. This ship also always had a variety of activities - something for everyone. It also always had a choice of evening shows with 2 different theaters or movies, etc..
  6. What sticks out in my mind the most is....the friendly, open and welcoming people on the ship - both passengers and crew. I had a preconceived notion of people that went on cruises were "stuffy" and "snobby", so I was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong. It is quite the opposite .
  7. Mary Lou - Have a fantastic cruise!!!
  8. I agree with Mary Lou - would not want to go back to Ocho Rios - a beautiful place but didn't feel safe. My favorite place to visit is Grand Cayman.
  9. It's worth checking out. I thought it sounded "fishy" but worth a try!
  10. My favorite would have to be the shows with the comedians, singers, magicians, jugglers, etc. But, I also enjoy just making my own entertainment - sitting on the pool deck (in the shade) with a good book or puzzle - people-watching and looking out at the ocean.
  11. For us it's the itinerary, then the cruise line. We like to visit at least one port per cruise that we've never been to before.
  12. My new favorite is a "Pyrate" Rum Runner.
  13. Nice job, Mary Lou!!! I have to admit that I check daily also, but have never caught a break.
  14. BON VOYAGE llachance! Have the best cruise ever!!
  15. BON VOYAGE omjones322! Have the best cruise ever!!!
  16. I would probably choose January - right after the often stressful (but enjoyable) holidays. Also it's usually the worst weather time around here.
  17. As a new member I'm really looking forward to this cruise. Out of the 3 lines you mentioned Princess is my favorite but I would go with the majority. It's a cruise I'm not choosy.
  18. My dh wants to take a year off from cruising (of course I don't). Maybe I can talk him into ths one!
  19. I've always wanted to take that cruise. Sounds great!!
  20. We have never had an inside cabin. My dh is very claustrophopic. Out of our 6 cruises we've had 2 oceanview and 4 balconies.
  21. We usually take our time getting off the ship unless we're not going to be in port long. It's nice to go to breakfast after the initial rush and have a leisurely meal.
  22. With only 6 cruises on 3 different lines I would have to say the Star Princess.
  23. I would also probably choose the specialty dining.
  24. I understand why they have all the new amenities. It attracts families and younger cruisers. I myself prefer the basics and wish they'd concentrate on perfecting those.
