Thanks, so much for the suggestions. We've done stuff on our own before and thought that would be the best route for this trip. But we wanted to get some suggestions from others who've experienced these islands.

Our ports of call are Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten and St. Thomas (originating in San Juan). We have never visited Curacao and St. Maarten and were wondering what's the best way to get a good "taste" of these islands - excursions, taxis or rental cars? We are not beach goers or big shoppers. We're more about the local culture - markets, history, architecture and geography - natural attractions. And we are both big shutterbugs!

I voted for the comedians but I also like the big stage shows and magicians. I'm looking forward to seeing the ice show on Adventure of the Seas. Heard it's really great!

We're going on a S. Caribbean next month! Can't wait to get out of the cold and snow!

On our last 2 cruises (both on Princess - Golden and Star) we experienced watered-down drinks. We didn't have this problem on RCI or NCL. Just wondering if that's becoming the norm and if anybody else has noticed this on other ships.

Ours was an E. Caribbean - San Juan, St. Thomas and Bahamas aboard the Norwegian Sky (no longer sailing under that name). We got hooked on cruises and have been on 4 more and another one planned for Feb., 2008.

We have been on 5 cruises - 4 Caribbean and 1 Alaskan. We are going on a S. Caribbean cruise in Feb.. Is it at all possible to get your Passport stamped in any of the countries and if so, where?. I just think it would be a good "souvenir".
