  1. No South Beach but the water taxi is a good deal in FLL. Cost about $10.00 per person and took you from downtown up the inland water way to good stops. You can get on and off as much as you wish and I think they run about 30 minutes apart. Nice view of some super houses and they crew points out interesting places. We took it one year and spent the whole day getting onand off at different stops. Think the web site is www.watertaxi.com Good hotels in FLL are somewhat cheaper than Miami. Just depends what you are looking for. One year we stayed at a Holiday Inn for $110. The next year a Hampton Inn for $80. The Hampton Inn was nicer, cleaner, friendlier employees and a free shuttle from the airport and to Port Everglades. (The shuttle had pink flamingos all around the top. Real easy to spot!)
  2. That's a tough question. Guess it would be Cozumel.
  3. We agree eith the others. Jamaica is our worst. We not only were offered drugs but the tour guide we hired pointed out a drug lords house! Now that's something to be proud of!
  4. Mercedes ahve a great cruise in Europe. Watch that bear, it has been in under some questionalbe influences lately!
  5. Jackie...We will probably fly into FLL. It's only about a thiry minute drive to Miami and they have shuttles. Can be a lot cheaper flying into FLL compared to Miami.
  6. We started cruising 4 years ago so I haven't seen many changes. In our experience the service level has changed with each cruise. Some has improved and some has declined. Depends on the servers. I agree with MaryLou on the dinning. That is one of the favoite parts of the cruise for me the dress code is a joke!
  7. Don't think I would send the money first. Sounds shady
  8. Joey, Put us down for one night. $159 is steep for a Holiday Inn but remember location, location, location. There is so much to do there plus its close to the port. That makes the $159 a pretty good deal. lashl - Late Seating - Cabin 6098
  9. $150 for that area is probably about right. Location, location, location!
  10. We did the first regular cruise on Carnival Mircle. As it was our first cruise there were probably more bugs than we new about but didn't notice any problems. Ignorance is bliss!
  11. Carnival is our favorite also. Plenty to choose from and has always been fresh, warm, or cold as it should be.
  12. Great pictures Larry! Thanks for sharing.
  13. Flying is really becoming a pain. The cost is going up, the lines are getting longer, and now we have to think about what we are going to wear!
  14. We have always had a balcony rooms. Like everyone else we are hooked. Enjoy the privacy too much. It is the escape from the crowds.
  15. Cuban black beans and rice. Just doesn't get any better than that!
  16. Have never had the opportunity to book a cruise on board Carnival. I always book another cruise within a month of getting home. Have to be on a cruise or looking forward to another at all times!
  17. Joey...Just looked at the pins. They look great! Also, I love chicken wings and Hooter wings are really good!
  18. Oh, just give in a book the cruise. You know you want to go and would be miserable waiting for us to get back. We would love to have you join us!
  19. The Holiday Inn sounds like a great location and we have MaryLou to check it out. From my days in Miami you don't want to roam too far at night and it sounds like there is a lot to do close at hand.
  20. Miami is the worst port I have never sailed out of. Having lived in Miami for a year anything in Miami is at the bottom of my list including the airport. For the Connie Crazie cruise we will fly in & out of Ft Lauderdale. My least favorite port that we have sailed out of it would be Long Beach. The port is fine but LAX and the distant to the port, not good.
  21. You guys are looking at this the wrong way. It's a business opportunity. Set up a "Hot Room" real close to the airport. Charge people a fee to use the room and sweat off extra fluid weight. An added benefit to your customers, they would get thru lines at the airport much quicker and the guy that crowds you in your seat won't be a problem anymore! (Unless he is one of your customers)
  22. We join the "Glad we booked early" crowd. That's a big increase. I can see us droping back to one cruise a year. Probably longer cruises but the cost of getting to either coast from here is getting out of hand. Rose..Write a "I'm mad and I'm not going to take it letter" to the cruise line. I did that a few cruises ago and got a free bottle of wine on the next cruise! That should be close to $18!
  23. Since we don't have any ports close our favorite is Port Canaveral. With relatives living in Orlando it is very easy for us to get to. Next, would be Port Everglades. Also easy to get in and out of. Least favorite is Long Beach. Nothing wrong with the port but flying in and out of LAX is a gigantic pain!
  24. We stay up later and get up early. Will sleep when we get back!
