About Me
Have been an RN forty years. As of February 20, 2009, in the $40 million budget cuts to the Department of Public Health in San Francisco, I lost my job of 21 years as a forensic nurse for the city and county of San Francisco, for CASARC - where I dealt with those under the age of 18 who were victims of sexual assault, physical violence. I am a SANE-A, active in the International Associaton of Forensic Nurses of which I was a founding member.
Not sure now what I will do. This has been overwhelming and we all fought to save our jobs and the services to the children of San Francisco as we had provided them all these years. I've been suffering some medical problems....once I'm better, I have to try to find another job....need lots of prayers from my friends and colleagues. As of now, I am officially retired though one cannot live in the San Francisco area very well on retirement income.
