  1. What a great experience to record in your memory. I'm glad you were able to find yacht-style solitude on a cruise ship.
  2. I saw one news story that the Carnival Sensation responded to assist if needed.
  3. I saw this happen once on one of the cruise documentaries. Unfortunately, I believe it's more common than we think.
  4. Thanks for the tip Michael and Amy. I should have paid more attention that it was cruise "law" news.
  5. Good, honest review, Andi. I like hearing the good and the bad, which is how I write my reviews. I can understand the awkwardness of joining a cruise underway. I think we all enjoy the sailaway, when collectively, the entire ship is starting its journey together. It sounds like there was a bit of "seniority" attitude going on, which could be a downer. Also, the plumbing problems. I'm glad you were able to enjoy yourself anyway, but I can see how a first-time cruiser might be convinced not to come back, if they were forced to take showers in the spa. Time to bring the ol' girl into dry dock and flush her pipes! Maybe a large bottle of Drano will help.
  6. Good catch John. And I also agree with Michael and Amy. Alot can happen in 8 years, including mergers and acquisitions that may not have been announced.
  7. Another reason to participate in the muster drill. Glad noone was hurt.
  8. "Aloha Ms. Hand!" Thanks for the information. Hawaii is on our bucket list.
  9. I'm glad that CLIA did this rather than having the various governments impose it.
  10. I don't know how to fix your pictures, but I bet Jason does. Send him a PM?
  11. I remember my parents taking a trip to Nassau back in the 1980s, and telling me how visible the police were and how safe they felt. What happened? To protect their main industry, perhaps they need to beef up the force again?
  12. Good point. Much better value to be found on the "older" ships for someone who just wants to cruise
  13. We also did red-eyes in our younger days, when we were more alert and didn't require much sleep. Now if I were to try that, I would look like one of those zombies from Walking Dead. :0 "We want our sail-away drink and we want it now!"
  14. I'm one of the people who've had a bag not arrive when I did. Thankfully, we had flown in the day prior, and the bag arrived before our ship departed. We'll always get to the port a day early when flying.
  15. It's only enough if she circled the globe aboard The World!
  16. Debbie, you used to have an avatar photo of you and Jerry, didn't you?
  17. Good luck to them. They had a nice niche on the rivers, but now they'll be competing with a couple well established ocean lines. Hope they don't get sunk by the competition.
  18. Until we've been everywhere (like Johnny Cash), we like to visit new ports. That doesn't mean we don't want sea days thrown in just to tour the ship and take a rest.
  19. Found the Costa's poll. Not exactly the same, but here it is for reference: http://www.cruisecrazies.com/forums/topic/46361-what-would-it-take-to-get-you-to-book-a-costa-cruise/?hl=poll#entry796272 There's also one about the Triumph: http://www.cruisecrazies.com/forums/topic/48273-past-cruisers-has-the-triumph-caused-you-to-reconsider-cruising-at-all/?hl=poll#entry807516
