  1. She sells out 18 months before she sails out....very impressive.
  2. I guess I'll offer a slightly differing opinion here. When we cruised on the Diamond Princess in Sep 2005 for an Inside Passage cruise, we booked a two room suite at the very front of the ship. When you look at a picture of the ship, it's the balcony that curves. Perhaps further back on the ship would offer better use of the balcony, but ours was virtually unusable for most of the trip due to the wind. We didn't have a windblock at all. Also, it was uncovered, so when it rained (which was most of the time) we didn't get much use. We DID get to use it on our trip up Tracey Arm; but we could just as well gone topside for that.
  3. Since the article indicates the savings apply to the on-board credit, I'm assuming that one could purchas 100 shares of stock and still get the savings on-board, even if a cruise was booked prior to owning the stock. Am I assuming too much?
  4. Joey, I can't think of why they would care, unless they were getting too many complaints from passengers about them being stolen. Hopefully, the "Do Not Disturb" signs are still allowed!
  5. The article speaks of first quarter "results" but doesn't speak to profits, so it's hard to determine if this is a good news story or bad news. I think as long as they're making a profit, or at least breaking even, they'll weather the storm and see more profitable days.
  6. Jackie, you Doc Dancing Girl! I'll join you...

  8. Boy, that Max sounds like an interesting fellow! I'd love to buy him a bottle of rum, then sit back and listen to his stories.
  9. Excellent Jackie. It's always seemed a simple thing to me to allow people to book these things online, just like excursions. I'm glad to see some cruiselines raising the bar.
  10. Tuesday: I don't want to "parrot" others, but Bon Voyage! It's time to fly away! Staying home is for the birds! Get the flock out of town! OK, I'm finished now. Hope you have a great time.
  11. We did factor the ship in when planning our upcoming cruise. We started off looking at iteneraries for Oasis of the Seas. Then we compared to older ships, and settled on a Southern Carribean itenerary with Adventure of the Seas. It was just a much better value.
  12. Larry I enjoyed looking at your photo album. That was a great shot you took of the sunset.
  13. Oh I see what this is about. At first, I thought Carnival was already auctioning of their latest ship!
  14. And their next challenge will be to fill it, in this economy. That's alot of staterooms to fill up week in and week out...
  15. Well I hope they can pull the financing together. It would be a shame to see an 80% complete hulk of the largest cruise ship yet sitting idle in the shipyard.
  16. Are you going to post your credit card number?

  18. Debbie: After all the cold weather you've had, and all the job stress you guys have been through, I'm so glad you'll be off to this well-deserved break. If things get hectic for me next week, I might just smile to myself thinking about all that fun you're having. Okay with that?
  19. Deb Do you mean that if your bag weighs, say 55 lbs, they're going to charge you $65? I won't post what I think of that.
  20. Isn't it nice when the paint is fresh, and everything is new? Thanks for sharing your work.
  21. We have so many cruises we want to do, but haven't done yet; this would be down the list a ways. Our wish list: 1) Finish exploring the Caribbean (Southern next year; Eastern someday) 2) Panama Canal 3) Mexican Riviera/Baja 4) Mediterranean 5) Atlantic crossing 6) South America/Antartica So, at our current rate, we might get to West Coast in about 15 years....
