  1. I know you are concerned about the girls missing alot school but if we went out of Vancouver, BC on Carnival it sails in Sept. This we could do in 2011 or 2012. Carnival seems to be the cheapest in price. Celebrity has a rd tr from San Diego that sails in Feb and Mar. If we did NCL it would be more money but you fly there, sail, and fly home. Less time and the girls wouldn't miss any school. For us sailing out of Vancouver would be great. Here's something to think about if you like to do this cruise you fly into Vanc. sail to Hawaii and then fly home from Hawaii. We will talk more. The sooner we pick a date the easier the rest will be. I will have to take some time off from work but that is okay. After everything I just said I still didn't really answer your question did I? Now I am confused Help me! later
  2. I don't blame you on the driving to LA. You would have thought if NCL has a ship there all the time that they would be cheaper. Plus you have to fly to/from. Seriously going to look at leaving out of BC and fly back. Not sure yet. Still thinking.
  3. I was wondering the same thing. I am still looking at all the cruise lines and trying to figure out what would be best. For us we could go to Vancouver, BC(drive), cruise to Hawaii and then fly back to Vanc and drive home. Could fly to Hawaii, cruise and fly back. Am I making any sense? Gosh I hope so. Been looking most of the morning and doing paperwork.
  4. WELCOME ABOARD nrdit!! Glad to have you here!
  5. Falina.. I will help where i can you know that....i also think we are going to need everyones help that may want to consider this.. now as to your answer your questions...it's just like you are planning for your own cruise.. look at both options.. see whats availible.. then choose two or 3 differnet itineraries along with pricing post athread and see if anyone's interested..... the other way to do it is book the cruise you want and then ask everyone else to join you.. to be honest we have done both.... Thanks. This gives me alot to work with. I have ordered several brochures from different cruise lines to what they all have to offer. I am ready to sail myself. Thinking this can be fun. Also thinking I should get with a real good travel agent to help me with a group one. Well I will let you know what I have when I have things figured out. May take me awhile. So if you don't hear from me for awhile you know where I am.
  6. Okay here is the deal. I will look into this and see what I can come up with. Not promising anything. Here is a question do we want to do a round trip from CA or do we want to board the ship in Hawaii? Also when is a good time to go? Joey I am going to need your help on this good buddy.
  7. WELCOME ABOARD jagent!! Glad to have you here!
  8. falina "I nominate you a committee of one to explore and report back on the possibility of a hawaii group cruise in 2012" all in favor? I say nay! How about you? Thanks for the vote of confidents but I am not good at arranging for large groups. Wouldn't know the first thing about a group cruise.
  9. WELCOME ABOARD mcallaghan!! Glad to have you here!
  10. BON VOYAGE!! Have a great cruise!
  11. I did see that one and another line does too. Going to be expensive no matter which way we decide to go. Keeping the cost down is a must because I would like to stay an extra day to see the sites in Honolulu. I am just in the planning stages right now. It would fun to a round trip from CA but getting the right time to go could be a factor. I know Andrea said they would like to do one only if they could keep the girls from missing to much school. Summer time would be best for them except most of the lines don't go to Hawaii during that time. Anyway thanks for the tip. Appreciate it.
  12. WELCOME ABOARD Rocky1!! Glad to have you here!
  13. West coast crazie get together sounds ideal to me. Andrea I did a little checking and the cruise lines that leave from CA are only in April or Sept. Some go round trip and others only go one way. I may have missed one....but will keep looking. NCL is the only cruise line with a ship there year round. My dad and stepmom went on it a few ago and had a great time. They said the crew is all american and very friendly. Just something to think about. I think we would have a great time cruising together.
  14. WELCOME ABOARD A2Bob!! Glad to have you here!
  15. Maybe we could go at the same time. That would be fun. Sorry to hear they don't want to go back. thanks , I would like to go together if we go work out the time table...but it would have to be when the girls are out of school, at least for one week out of school...Rachael can't afford to miss 2 straight weeks of school...I hate to say this but she can't afford to miss 2 straight weeks of school and isn't most cruises to Hawaii at least 12 and 13 days? plus there would be our travel time. They are that long if you plan on leaving from the west coast. Hadn't thought about that. We were thinking of flying to Hawaii then board the ship. It might be cheaper to board in Calif and cruise to Hawaii. Will have to do alot checking for both. You look and I will too. 2012 would be best for us but 2011 if it is later in the year.
  16. Maybe we could go at the same time. That would be fun. Sorry to hear they don't want to go back.
  17. Thanks MaryLou. I may have to wait until next fall or Jan. of 2010. I am going to look at all the cruise lines to see what each one offers.
