Each line that we have sailed with has handled the drills differently but every one of them: RCI, Princess, Holland and Celebrity have stressed that the drill is mandatory. On our last Princess cruise in November we brought our life vests and had to put them on at the appropriate time...... I wonder if even there are differences among captains...... Shari & Marc, you raise good points about what to do if you are separated. I agree with Marc that we just need to head for the life boats and plan to meet up safe and sound on shore! I

I have to side with the Alaska voters.... been twice and will definitely go again! Close second would be Galapagos and then Hawaii...

Doesn't deter me one bit from cruising.......however...... this is the second recent accident with loss of life for Costa - I hope they take some time to try to figure out why two captains have "grounded" two ships recently. They can probably forget increasing their U.S. market share for a while. I see they have two newbuilds on order......it will be interesting to watch how this all plays out.

I heard that CCL's stock is down 20% at the bell. Interesting, since the US stock exchange is closed today for a holiday. Now sure how it is "down 20% at the bell". I would think CCL is traded in more than one market so maybe referring to world indices?

I guess this is more of a Port of Embarkation/Debarkation rather than a "call"....but I love Vancouver! I think it is such a neat city with such diversity, of things to do, as well as of the people. You can do some high end shopping and fancy dining and you can also do the nature things with Stanley Park and grouse Mountain...and you can do some kitschy things such as Gas Town. We've been there 3 times and I can't wait to get back...

It is just horrific to see that beautiful ship oon its side and the terror that those passengers must have felt! I cannot imagine.......

Wowee, Mary Lou! That is fantastic - that'll lift your spirits in a big hurry, eh?! Sounds like a great cruise on a great ship. Haven't been on that class yet but supposedly our Infinity in March has been solsticized so I'll get a little taste....... Doin' a little dance with you!
