We board on the 16th so there will be one cruise in between! That will be good - you can post your experience and let me know if there is anything I need to watch out for - or eagerly anticipate! Wow - a Grand Suite.... that will be a great retirement gift! Was the ship in good shape in 2010?

Cheryl, Sounds like we had a great idea - I just posted a new topic, not having seen this one yet! Oh well - two topics are better than none!

I'm so thrilled that I got to add a cruise to our 2012 itinerary that I thought I would shout it to the crazies! I'd like to hear about your new bookings as well! And then anyone who has sailed on that ship recently, or stayed pre or post cruise in the departure port, or sailed to those destinations, can chime in with tips and tricks and secret dos and don'ts, LOL! And don't forget to post your new booking on the Who's Crusing docket! WE ADDED A 7-NIGHT BERMUDA CRUISE IN SEPTEMBER ON THE EXPLORER OF THE SEAS OUT OF NEW JERSEY! This will be a return trip to Bermuda for us - we went previously on Celebrity. Anxious to hear how the ship is holding up if anyone has sailed on her lately! Hope to hear from you all - come on, lurkers, join in!!

Thanks for the review, Larry. I'm surprised at Celebrity - shame on them for not following through with their usual standard of CS and then to not try to make amends for their mishandling! I hope that was just an isolated personnel issue and not a sign of things to come. We do like Celebirty and will be spending 15 days on her in March! Looks like you did have a great cruise in spite of this - the itinerary sounds amazing!

I usually gain about 3 pounds - Ugh! On our Galapagos cruise, though, I actually lost 4 pounds. The daily routine on that cruise was two excursions of hiking and climbing that lasted 3 to 3 1/2 hours EACH, and the temperature was 112, LOL! It's true! I thoroughly enjoyed every meal and made good use of the included cocktails or I'm sure I would have lost a lot more!!

Jackie, We cruised Hawaii twice and the first time we were in Maui for two days...did some typical shore excursions and did book the Old Lahaina Luau on our own. Best rated luau in Hawaii! The second time we were in Maui we sprung for a small luxury van tour that took us up Haleakala, to the Lavendar farm (where they spread out a wonderful hot lunch for us - white linens and all!) and then on to the Tedeschi Winery and finally the Surfing Goat Dairy. It was a wonderful tour with just the 6 of us in the van. I would also recommend the Road to Hana.......we have not done that yet (plan to in September) but have heard wonderful things....unless you tend to get carsick....then I've heard it's not so fun .
