  7. If you go to Singapore, don't spit on the sidewalk!! They have extremely strict laws and near-barbaric punishments. If you're just touristing you should do fine. If you go there, you may want to at least look into the Raffles. It's celebrated from colonial times. Hong Kong has more to see and do. The crowds were not at all bad the last time I was there. Transportation is fast, cheap and efficient. It's been a decade since HK reverted to China, but the Chinese government has kept it pretty much as it was, in order to continue to reap the foreign exchange.

  17. That is a lot of help, Rose. My spanish is pretty much like my english, except smaller vocabulary. No gringo accent, either (I learned by hitching from Texas to Bolivia a number of years back - if you're traveling for six months, going eight thousand miles and start out with $300, you learn the language. As long as the taxis are plentiful, I shouldn't have much problem. Can you catch them in town, or is it only dockside?
  18. Looked at the excursions to the Mayan ruins in Cozumel and decided that $80pp was a little steep for such a short ride. Also, far too much time at the ruins. I've been to Uxmal and Chichen Itza both, and it took less than four hours to climb over every rock at the place! Question is, how much do taxis cost there? (Yes, I speak fluent spanish)
  19. Fianlly settled on Enchantment of the Seas out of Baltimore in September, bound for New England and Canada.
