  1. We’ve sailed out of Miami 16 times so far. For the most part it’s always been a very smooth experience.
  2. Welcome to CruiseCrazies! We all love cruising and this is a great place for help planning your next trip and talking about past adventures!

  6. Have a great time John! We look forward to hearing all about it!
  7. Hi Shari! We haven’t sailed Carnival Breeze yet, but we’ve only heard good things about her! Regarding food: Carnival has re-arranged their menu so read it carefully. You don’t want to miss anything and you should always try whatever they have listed under “Didja Ever” – you might be surprised! Regarding tours: do you mean shore excursions? If so, what itinerary are you sailing? Happy cruising!
  8. Great news for Galveston! (And don’t miss the amazing roast beef sandwiches at Park Café!)
  9. Looking forward to more choices right next door for us!
  10. Too bad this sort of news never seems to make it to the mainstream media…

  12. We don’t really care if the offer is “Ganja, mon?” or “Braid your hair, pretty lady?” (or pretty much anything else), our answer is always “No thanks” and whoever’s offering usually moves along to the next person...
  13. That’s actually pretty smart marketing. If you want to go Nessie watching wouldn’t you assume that the boat insured against Nessie-damage would be the one most likely to have an encounter? And, to be honest, Scotland just went up a few notches on my “to visit” list…
  14. Okay, we weren’t planning on another trip, but I think we need to at least look at dates and prices for a quick 3- or 4-night cruise in the next few weeks if the prices are that good!
  15. Welcome to CruiseCrazies! We all love cruising and this is a great place for help planning your next trip and talking about past adventures!
  16. Sounds like an amazing view! We’ve been in rough seas a few times but never with that kind of view of a storm in the distance!
  17. Is this the lodge that has the dinner show on property? If so, very fun show and delicious barbeque salmon! (And you don’t need to be staying there to participate – other cruise lines offer it as an excursion from their own lodges.)
  18. I’m a little confused – haven’t all Americans been paying for the Coast Guard with their taxes? If Carnival will be “reimbursing” the Coast Guard does that mean we’ll all be getting a small tax refund next year?
  19. We’ve got a busy day on 5/4 Tim (Mike’s stuck in the office all day and Amy’s actually working in Mexico City for a couple days) but we’ll try to stop by for a few minutes. Have a great cruise and a fantastic visit to Paradise Beach!

  22. Glacier cruising is the highlight of the trip for many visitors to Alaska. This will likely be the coldest day of your cruise (it may actually be the only cold day) but it is well worth it to spend as much time outside as you can to enjoy all of the magnificent views! Even if you have your own balcony, don’t forget to the check out the views from the public decks – and if the top decks seem crowded, head down to the promenade; you’ll be amazed at how different the glaciers look from closer to sea level! We’ve cruised both Tracy Arm (Sawyer Glacier) and Glacier Bay (Hubbard Glacier) – both are amazing but if you have to choose, we enjoyed the views of Hubbard Glacier more. One more hint: you have to drink some hot cocoa – it’s the perfect glacier viewing beverage!
