    Congrats to all involved on their last-minute cruise bookings! (Even though we just got back, we wish we could go too!) Tim, you definitely deserve this. Watch out though – you’ll be a twice-a-year cruiser every year before you know it!

    It’s good that Florida isn’t getting all the new ships (even though we live there). We’ve discovered that, in a lot of ways, a quick flight to places like New York or San Juan is actually more convenient than a four hour drive to Miami!

    That’s an impossible question to answer! The people and places, the food and drink, the music and culture – there are just far too many things that make cruising the perfect vacation for us!

    From what I read, this affected only a fraction of the staterooms and only lasted about 13 hours, mostly during the day. I might have a little more confidence in the article if the name of the person being quoted were spelled consistently…

    This is almost completely off topic, but when we sailed Celebrity Summit in December (and again last week ) the casino was completely smoke free! We rarely gamble ourselves, but Mom & Dad like to play (and they usually win a little) but they can’t handle the cigarette smoke at all. The non-smoking casino was a really pleasant surprise! (And I’m pretty sure all Celebrity ships have smoke free casinos now!)

    I know this type of thing on a cruise excursion is extremely rare, but it just goes to show you that anything can happen, anywhere, anytime. It’s also a reminder not to bring things ashore that you don’t really need.

    Thanks to the new terminal and garage we had one of our quickest, easiest times both getting on and off the ship two months ago! Regarding a new terminal: we’re never opposed to having more options!

    There are also some places where the track curves and (depending on what car you’re in) you can include the train itself in the photo along with the magnificent scenery!

    We go snorkeling all the time and just love it – so someday we really need to learn how to scuba! Way back when we started cruising you could get PADI certified on many week-long Princess cruises in the Caribbean. They’d start training you in the pool and then finish the certification on dives at the ports. The only downside was you really didn’t have the opportunity to do much of anything else. I haven’t heard about this program in quite a while though…
