    Like others have mentioned, insurance has always been purchased through our travel agent with coverage through a third party travel insurance company rather than the cruise line. That way it covers all the stuff like flights, hotels and excursions that we get from sources other than the cruise line!

    For what it’s worth, when we sailed Allure of the Seas it was one of the easiest, smoothest embarkations we’ve ever had!

    We ALWAYS have travel insurance. It’s not so much about missing the trip altogether as it is about the things that come up during the trip. We’ve had luggage get lost. We’ve had flights grounded (and had to make our own way to the ship via two trains!). Mom & Dad have had more than one visit to the ship’s doctor. Travel insurance has reimbursed us for all these expenses and more – it’s paid for itself many times over!
