    This announcement seems to be coming out a lot further in advance of the actual ship than normal. I bet Royal Caribbean has big plans for her to help promote Quantum of the Seas between now and then!

    Very sad – hope he’s okay. Obviously we don’t know what happened in this case but, like Tim said, many times we see parents who are completely on vacation from their parenting responsibilities and oblivious to what their kids are doing.

    I’ll wait until this appears to be more of a pattern before I worry too much about it. One thing we learned over the last few months: the media sometimes seems to go out of their way to find anyone who’s unhappy so they can get a quote!

    Depending on who we’re traveling with sometimes we’ll do a small wine package, but we definitely lean towards the lower priced options. It is nice to have the full wine list though – thanks!

    I think we’ve read the same reviews Larry. It seems like the MSC product is primarily designed for European tastes and only somewhat Americanized when they come to the Caribbean. Maybe part of the problem was the reviewers not going in with the right expectations? Hopefully MSC will be a great addition to the year-round cruise market!

    Hi Paul, you should definitely give Royal Caribbean a try! If you don’t think the big ships are right for you, we highly recommend their Radiance Class ships. They’re our favorite Royal Caribbean ships – we find them the perfect balance of features and intimacy – always a great cruise!

    These new ships look like they’ll be great! One neat little feature we heard about is the ship’s horns on Royal Princess (and probably Regal Princess) will play the first two lines of “The Love Boat” theme! (Sure, Disney’s been doing something similar for years, but this is the Love Boat!)

    We haven’t tried MSC yet but we want to. They don’t sail many short cruises out of Florida, but it looks like there are a couple of 3-night options departing November 20 or December 7, 2013. Right now our schedule is pretty tight, but maybe when it gets closer we’ll be able to squeeze one in!
