    We’re very supportive of anything that protects the environment and any infractions should be sanctioned. However, I can’t help but remember one particularly illuminating analogy. During the horrible BP oil spill, someone pointed out that all that leakage in the Gulf of Mexico was equivalent to 24 ounces of beer being spilled in Cowboys Stadium… I guess no matter what, the Earth will be here long after we’re gone.

    We lived in Las Vegas for 7 years a while back (so shipboard casinos are really kinda “cute” to us) and the slots there went coinless a long time ago. We never play much, but nothing beats that “clink-clink-clink” noise!

    We’ve all had this before – probably a few times – and we’ll all have it again in the future. We’ve always just called it “the flu”. And all those years ago when our parents were telling us to wash our hands… Who knew they’d turn out to be right?

    These plans to turn old cruise ships into hotels rarely seem to work out, do they? I think the shoreside dock space is just as valuable (if not more so) as land. And you know if people live near there they’ll fight having their ocean view block by an instant hotel!

    I remember when this was first announced. The cruise line had found that the vast majority of guests who ordered room service between midnight and 5:00am were sound asleep when it arrived. The token surcharge isn’t so much about making money as it is about saving the wasted food and labor by ensuring that those who order room service really do want it. No issues for us – we’re usually still full from dinner!
