Our first cruise to Alaska was aboard Sapphire Princess – you’re going to have a great time! We had a couple people in our group who swore they’d never cruise anywhere “cold” and have since gone several times. Alaska is a completely different experience from other cruise destinations but it is simply amazing!

Both of the cruises we visited Aruba on were week-long out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Our last trip there was June 2005 though – seems like it’s high time to go again!

We’ve sailed a few ships more than once, but always because of the itinerary or a great deal – never just to sail that ship again. It’s kind of sad knowing that several of the first ships we sailed on are gone now, but we don’t feel like we missed anything by not getting to sail them again. We know people who never want to sail the same ship twice – so getting rid of the old to make way for the new is perfect for them. I guess as long as it’s good for the cruise industry we’ll never have any trouble finding our next trip!

Thank you for the review. We were also affected by the ash cloud in April of 2010; we were two of only seventeen passengers who made it to Budapest for a river cruise to Vienna. The personal attention and nearly private cruise really spoiled us!
