We did that itinerary last summer on the Grand Princess, except it was 10 days from San Francisco. I've got a review up in the Cruise Review section if you want to check it out. Does your itinerary include Glacier Bay?

Welcome to CruiseCrazies, Mel and Tammy! I'm not cruising with you, but I wish I were. Hawaii is high on my bucket list, with a whole bunch of other destinations, as well. By the way, I was out in your neck of the woods over 10 years ago when my oldest daughter attended and graduated from Miami Ohio. Nice area and nice campus! Happy anniversary and enjoy your cruise. Hopefully, there are others here who can offer up some tips and advice on the POA and Hawaii.

Disney Cruise Line has recently updated its pregnancy policy. Effective immediately, women who are entering their 24th week of pregnancy during their cruise will be refused passage due to safety concerns. This information has been updated on the FAQ section of the Disney Cruise Line website, as well as in their Terms & Conditions section, as follows: "Women who have entered their 24th week of pregnancy as of their embarkation date, or who will enter their 24th week of pregnancy during their cruise will be refused passage due to safety concerns. Neither a physician’s medical statement nor a waiver of liability will be accepted. In addition Disney Cruise Line cannot be held responsible for any complications relating to pregnancy at any stage."

Sorry, but I really have very little sympathy for people who make poor choices and do dumb things, whether from drinking too much or just plain stupidity. Now she is suing the cruise line for serving her too much booze? What happened to taking responsibility for your own actions? She was lucky to be alive. She should thank God and leave it at that.

The older I get, the bigger my travel bag of meds, too, since I've graduated to the large economy size bottles for Advil and Tums! Great advice. As an example, my youngest daughter wore new shoes on our cruise last week, not heeding my advice to break them in first. Sure enough, blisters appeared, and she was very grateful for the band aids and antibacterial ointment I brought along. One thing to add to the above ... keep an emergency kit with Rx meds and any other essentials in a convenient, easy-to-grab-fast location in case of an emergency situation where you might have to abandon ship.

Happy anniversary, Rene! We also waited until the kids were older before we took our first cruise - on our 25th anniversary. If you're like me, you'll wonder why you waited so long. Enjoy your first cruise - it won't be your last!
