    Boston has as much history as Charleston, and Bostonians and the cruise industry seem to be coexisting well. With the right management, I think Charleston can do the same. I think it's more of an image thing - the same way that people who live at the shore complain about wind turbines blocking their view of the ocean.

    When possible, I pay my daughter's closest and most trusted friend to housesit while we're away - mostly for the cat. She picks up the mail, reads our newspaper, watches TV, feeds and plays with the cat and even stays over. If my daughter is not cruising with us, all the better. The two of them watch things while we're away.

    Rose - I like "Anthem", a very fitting music term. But I agree about "Quantam" - dumb name . It makes it sound like a monstrosity, a ship even more huge than Oasis or Allure - which it's not. I am curious to see the new design, though.

    Reminds me of that movie "The Holiday" where Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet swap houses - one in LA and one in England. I'd go for that little cottage in England ... with Jude Law as part of the deal!

    We go with Anytime (or Personal Choice, etc) and eat when we're hungry. The exception was this past August aboard Ocean Princess, which offers only traditional dining. In that case, we chose late sitting, which works best. That way I can take a nap before dinner - which is the only way I'll be able to keep my head from falling into my plate! We are early-dinner - early-to-bed people at home, so vacations require some internal clock adjustments!
