  1. Just wanted to share this news from RCI Monarch of the Seas - a toddler fell from a balcony while on Monarch of the Seas yesterday. From clickorlando.com: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/Police-Child-falls-off-balcony-of-cruise-ship-at-Port-Canaveral/-/1637132/17873650/-/lcfc99z/-/index.html I sure hope the child will be okay.
  2. I'd like to climb aboard the Crazie Welcome Wagon, too - so glad you found us! Please share your experiences, ask questions and join in the conversation with the friendliest cruise community around!
  3. Hi Bonnie - Yeah, I'm sure many aspects of cruising have changed since your one and only cruise. There are so many choices now, and with a little research and help from us here at Cruise Crazies, you'll find a great cruise that's perfect for you. With luck, you will be hooked on cruising and wonder why you waited so long to give it a re-try! We're to help, and I hope you will share your other non-cruise travel experiences with us, as well! Hope to see you here often.
  4. Michael & Amy - I am with you on the west coast expansion. I would need a reason to fly out to California for a short cruise. Alaska is the only reason I will fly out west for a cruise!
  5. I really enjoyed your photos! We switched our Mediterranean cruise to Alaska for next summer, and now I am seeing what I will miss.
  6. Good survival story. Reminded me of "Unbroken", the book about Olympic runner Louie Zamparini and his ordeal as a WWII POW and his survival in a life raft at sea. It's amazing what the human body can endure in life and death circumstances.
  7. Good job, Jason! Looking forward to trying out some of the new features.
  8. Hi! I'd like to climb aboard the Crazie Welcome Wagon, too - so glad you found us! Please share your experiences, ask questions and join in the conversation with the friendliest cruise community around!

  13. We are planning on booking Alcatraz when the tours open for July on their website. Do you recommend the first morning tour or the evening one? Your time in San Francisco sounds like a great experience. We are very excited!
  14. You're right, Salty Dog! A cruise is a big investment. I wasn't always a planner. In fact, I used to wander aimlessly until I met my husband who doesn't start each day without some sort of schedule. It can get quite exhausting, but on vacations, a plan comes in very handy - see the most while wasting the least amount of time!
  15. Debbie&Jerry, We're cruising to Alaska from San Francisco. We're spending 3 days pre cruise and one day post, to see the city. Did you see Alcatraz? That's #1 on my list! Muir Woods is a national park featuring Redwoods. It's located outside of SF (Mill Valley I think?), and it seems a popular place to visit from SF.
  16. The "plague" visited me about a month ago (at my home - how dare it!) and traveled through the entire family. It was the nastiest thing we'd ever encountered. I feel bad for anyone who is unfortunate enough to encounter this at sea.

  21. Thanks for your input everyone. You are right. A person could go mad over this, so I have booked the Virgin America flights. They are non-stop, the times work well, and the prices aren't all that bad. Time to move on! :)
  22. Decisions...decisions...I have been monitoring air for the last two months for a cruise in July-August, and the fare between BOS and SFO has remained the same at $406, both United and Virgin America. Today the JetBlue fares came out, but their fares were not as good as I had hoped. Torn between booking either United or VA now or waiting for a price drop. What would you do?
  23. A Christmas cruise - the best gift ever (even to one's self)! Have a great time and report back when you return.
  24. Absolutely - the energy rises 150% when he walks into a room. You know that line about how "opposites attract"? This is the reason we've been married for 35 years and still going strong. Never a dull moment!
