    I'm not a fan of the new, huge mega ships that are the trend today, but I do like the design of the new Breakaway and Getaway, and feel they are big improvements over the Epic. Epic's cabin design, specifically the odd bathroom setup, just doesn't do it for me.

    I agree, Debbie. The captain and crew of ships sailing during stormy seas do a good job of keeping their passengers out of harm's way. Yet it always amazes me to read about disgruntled passenger/idiots complaining about missing a port because their ship had to change course in a hurricane and then demand to be compensated. Geez!

    I hear ya! I was amazed at the number of folks on our Ireland/Scotland cruise who were doing three back-to-back cruises and/or spending three weeks exploring Britain on either end of the cruise. I dream of the day when I will have both time and money to extend my vacation in such a way. Our extended vacation time included a day and a half in Canterbury. Woohoo! And don't get me started on those world cruises ...

    I ask this because I just re-booked my Alaska cruise with the promotion the cruise line was offering for this week's National Cruise Travel Week. I was able to save $$$ and receive an additional upgrade. Most of us here are probably already in the know, but for you new cruisers, just a friendly reminder - don't book and forget! Check those prices regularly - you never know when a price drop will come along.
