Just to bring us up to speed, we are now looking at the 10-day Caribbean Princess, August 9, 2019, Quebec to New York cruise. My husband really wants to come, but can't make it work for September or October. So, Miranda, when you return, let us know if this works for you. There won't be any color on the trees yet, but it will be warm and beautiful up north. ? Here's the itinerary: https://www.princess.com/find/cruiseDetails.do?voyageCode=B930

Rescued Passenger Credits Survival to Singing and Yoga
Jan115 replied to Jason's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
The media has to stop using the term "fell" off the ship and start saying "went overboard". Glad to hear of her amazing survival. Too bad it was for an incident that could have been avoided. -
There is a reason why cruise lines are now calling them "service charges" now, rather than gratuities. A gratuity or "tip" means showing appreciation to crew members for great service. When gratuities are an automatic, set rate, it sounds more like a service charge. Thus, the "service charge" was born.?

These Cruise Lines Want You To Get Off The Ship
Jan115 replied to Jason's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
Love the idea of extended port stays! Celebrity has been doing this for a couple of years, as well as Princess, and I hope the trend continues. ? -
Cruise Into Fitness: New Options To Take Your Workout On Vacation
Jan115 replied to Jason's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
Not sure how Blue World Voyages will pan out, but pretty much anything Royal Caribbean adds to a ship is a success. With the trend toward health and fitness nowadays, their WOD on the Waves cruise should be a winner.? -
Fire Destroys Popular Caribbean Cruise Destination

Why would people do such a thing to send some sort of message is beyond me.? I'm happy to hear that most of the animals survived. -

Exactly why insurance makes sense. Good thing you bought it, Shari! ? -
Disney Cruise Line Changes Final Payment and Cancellation Policy
Jan115 replied to Jason's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
Well, I guess that's a little better than Viking, who wanted my final payment by this August 31st for an October 2019 cruise!? Fortunately, I got them to move it to next April!? -
Exactly, Jason. Personally, I could never understand the desire to schlepp all those beverages on board, anyway. Then, again, I don't drink soda and only drink water from a reusable bottle. To each their own, I guess. ?

Glad you liked it. By the way, I DID get new glasses, and I still miss things!?

Bought a couple of future cruise credits on our recent NCL cruise and booked this 7-day April break cruise from Miami. Anyone else who can tolerate lots of kids and families want to join us? ???
