  5. I might use a dry cleaning bag for any “formal night” wear, but other than that, I am a roller. I don’t use any bags, cubes or anything else. I just roll the clothes.
  6. May the force be with you, Andi! My husband feels the same way about the Star Trek cruise! ?
  7. This is a great collection of reasons to sail Viking Ocean. I’ll add one more detail that sets Viking apart: real paper documents at no extra charge! About 3 weeks before your cruise, Viking mails out a document kit, complete with spiral bound document booklet including FAQ and complete itinerary info, printed cruise tags, permanent leather luggage tags, and a neat zippered pouch to store them all in. What a classy cruise line!
  8. A wise move by Royal Caribbean, putting a larger ship into service for the short Bahama cruises. A lot of people like the choices in food, entertainment and activities of a larger ship, but still like the short cruises. Those who can’t get away for a full week, won’t be limited to the smaller, older ships.
  9. I can relate somewhat to the author’s “first” experiences - the flushing toilets and the those occasions when socializing is called for. What was missing from her account was the first-timer WOW factor when boarding a ship for the very first time. Then again, 16 hours on a ship docked in port doesn’t really have the thrill of a multi-day voyage at sea. I hope she had the opportunity since that moment in 2013 to board another cruise ship - one actually cruising!?

  14. None of that means anything to a true TWD fan. No fan expects to actually meet and greet a cast member. The Q&A panels with the cast are the most popular events at a Con, as well as the Cosplay (dressing up like the characters), the camaraderie, and the Fandom experience are what attracts. In fact, if it's like a Con, extra fees will be required for a photo op and autograph. Fans will gravitate to whatever event is happening at any cost. I've never been to one, but my now-adult kids have been to many a Comic-Con, Walker-Stalker Con and Anime convention, and while it looks frivolous and silly to most people, it's a very big deal for followers of these events.
  15. At least the same interaction that one would get at a Walker-Stalker Con. Trust me, Walking Dead fans will pay - it's a cult following.
  16. I agree, Shari. More and more people are choosing to travel solo and that includes cruisers. Making guests pay the solo supplement doesn’t seem very fair, and I wish the mainstream lines would at least lower the supplement. Still, there are deals every now and then waiving the supplement, but not enough.
  17. As a diehard TWD fan, I could get into this. A day with the cast at a Walker-Stalker Con is fun, but 4 days at sea sounds even more awesome. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been on a Walking Dead cruise.??

  19. Lots of cruise ships dock in the Canary Islands, with ports like Tenerife, Las Palmas, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. You’ll have no trouble finding one perfect for you!???

    Port: Barcelona, June 2018

Norwegian Epic 6/3/18. Barcelona was our pre and post-cruise port city. We spent one night on each end of the cruise. We didn't see a lot, but what we did experience, was great!
