I know and understand why people enjoy cruising Royal Caribbean, however for me each new bigger ship and each new gadget onboard those ships makes me want to cruise them less. To me they are no longer ships and no longer feel like ships so I have less interest in being on them. Thats just me and if I am not on them that just leaves more room for someone else to enjoy cruising on them.

I have looked at many cruise boards and it is pretty much the same on every cruise board. Very few people post information on Holland America and her ships. There are also very few reviews written on Holland America cruise ships. The truth is there is only one board that I find a regular set of reviews about Holland America cruise's on. I will not mention that board out of respect for this board. Even on that board there are not a lot of reviews written. So please give me an opinion on why you may think few people comment on Holland America.

What is the best part of a cruise for you? For me it is always the same thing and that is meeting new people. It was the same for me when I worked as a crew member. It is the same for me regardless of what ship I am on and what cruise line I am sailing with. I have made many new friends from all over the world. I have learned about many different cultures and has changed the way I think about a few things. So the thing I look forward to on every cruise is meeting new people. I will also admit I have met people I am glad I will never see again and I am sure some feel the same about me, but the majority of the time the people I meet are great. I have three cruises coming up on a cruise line I have never been on to a place I love but I am still looking more forward to meeting some more new friends.

WeCruiseToo I really do not remember which ship I was on at the time. I have been on several ships that were in the areas of whales. I only remember the enjoyment I had watching the whales because I am a whale fanatic.

As the ships get bigger they will need larger terminals or different days to start a cruise so there are not so many ships in the port at one time. I am guessing bigger terminals will always be the answer even though I think they may get more passengers if they had different starting days.

I think this is great for those that have not been able to understand the tour guides in the past. I know one thing that was of value when I worked on a cruise ship were crew that could speak several languages.

Welcome aboard! I am glad you had a positive outcome from your rescue.

On one of the ships I worked on the crew laudry was on the highest deck of the ship. I was doing my laundry, which took about an hour and a half, and sitting on the crew deck. While on the crew deck I counted over 90 whales as the ship sailed on. I also saw a mother humpback and her calf practicing breaching next to the ship for 45 minutes. Now if I was a passenger I would have probably been doing some activity inside the ship, I did not see many passengers out on deck, however I was relaxing and got to see a fantastic site.

It does not surprise me that other cruise lines would not adjust their pricing. The majority of any cruisers on any line are past passengers and they know what cruising is like and that problems do arise. If you actually look at the few interviews of Carnival passengers that were past passengers, the majority really did not have any major problems with how they were treated on the ship and were happy with what was offered for the problems. I get asked many times when there is a problem if I will stop cruising? I always tell them I wish I had been on the troubled ship so I could get another free cruise. It is rare major problems happen so I do not worry about them happening on my cruise but I would understand if they did happen.

This is a cruise that would interest my wife. It is not my cup of tea but if she goes I will go. I can't let her go by herself now can I LOL.

Very helpful information. I believe this is a post that even experienced cruisers can use and keep in mind.

I'm not sure if I think the settlement is enough but then many times I do not agree with negotiated settlements in court cases. I will admit that I am looking forward to when they show them trying to upright the ship.
