TLDR: Carnival proves they are the Spirit Airlines of the seas but worse. In December we had a week-long Carnival cruise where some money was stolen from our cabin by the cleaning crew. I’m mad at myself for not having properly secured our property in the safe. But what really infuriated me was how security and supervisors treated us afterwards. First of all, security refused to even begin a claims report until we consented to a full search of our cabin. After we reluctantly agreed, a complete search of our room including safe, drawers, closets, clothes, underwear, luggage, backpack, pockets, and wallet with interrogation lasted for two hours. It was clear security was more interested in trying to find contraband in our room so they could ‘bust us’ rather than finding our stolen property. Secondly, security conversed to each other in foreign language even though all present proved they spoke English well when talking to us. They treated us as suspects and when they failed to find our money (i.e. contraband) or anything else that interested them, they then accused us of spending our money in the casino and not remembering. Finally, a steward manager eventually made their way into our room and was present with security. We were informed that our cleaning crew would not be entering our room again and they would be swapped out for different staff. The next morning, no changes had been made and the thieving staff members thought they were going to enter our room again. This insult resulted in having to wait in line at guest services to complain when this should have been handled by the supervisor in our room the night before like they said they would. In the end, we were never allowed to see our case documents created by the security staff (if they even existed). Carnival wanted to keep those hidden. Meanwhile, we were repeatedly informed that their staff are “not allowed to remove guest possessions from the rooms.” Carnival also said they would write us a ‘final letter.’ Apparently, they couldn’t be bothered.

Carnival Valor ~ January 19, 2017 ~ We’re part of a big group of friends and family on this cruise and we’ll be spending the day in Cozumel at an all-inclusive resort! We were all originally booked on Carnival Liberty but Carnival swapped ships to Carnival Valor. The ships are practically identical and almost everyone in our group kept the same stateroom making the swap almost unnoticeable.

WOOOOHOOOO!! A bunch of my friends and I will be sailing on the Carnival Magic on Oct 27, 2013. We're not a big group, there's only 27 cabins so far, but we're all wonderful friends and are always ready to welcome folks into our fold. I don't want to step on toes, I see that there is another bunch of folks from this site sailing on Magic on this date so please don't think that I'm trying to tread on someone else's turf! I just wanted to let y'all know that my folks (Cruisin' With The Crazies) will be on board. We'll be easy to spot... t-shirts with this logo: We're great fun, a bit loud and the crew (and Carnival...) love us!!! This will be our 7th group cruise with Carnival and it sure won't be the last! Stop by and say howdy!!!

A massive search is underway for a young couple missing from a Carnival cruise ship. The unnamed 26-year-old woman and 30-year-old man were last seen on the Carnival Spirit on Wednesday as it was sailing off the coast of Australia, and local authorities says security footage from the ship shows them going overboard around 8:50 pm. An Australian news outlet, The Australian, quotes a local police official as saying it's too early to say whether the couple fell or jumped off the vessel. In a statement sent to USA TODAY, Carnival's Australia office says the couple was discovered missing early today after the ship docked in Sydney, Australia at the end of a 10-night sailing. A search of the vessel was begun immediately, it says. "We have naturally been concerned since we became aware that two passengers were missing from Carnival Spirit, and our thoughts are clearly with their families at this difficult time," the statement says. "We are working closely with New South Wales Police and assisting them in their inquiries." The statement says the couple were traveling with family and friends, and "out of respect for the families," the company won't be making further comment for now. A statement from the local New South Wales police department says an air and marine search and rescue operation is underway off the coast of Australia to find the couple. The search is focusing on an area of the sea about 60 nautical miles east of Forster, Australia, the statement says. SOURCE: USAtoday
