Within the last weeks some enhancements have been made to the site. Instead of just announcing what they are, thought it would be fun to conduct a Scavenger Hunt - To see who can identify all of site enhancements that have not yet been announced. CruiseCrazies is pleased to announce the public release of our latest site upgrade! We have worked tirelessly behind the scenes for the last 2 months, in preparation for this moment .... To deliver the most modern, top quality online cruise community possible .... with all sorts of new bells, whistles, and of course a completely new look! There are still a few items under construction, however the bulk of enhancements have been completed at this point. This latest site upgrade was necessary in order to bring the software that powers our community up-to-date. Though it will take a small amount of time to adjust to the change, we are confident you will appreciate the improved experience the site now offers. Pay attention, all of the most important account management tools and options are covered here! Our new header: Notifications allow members to select the type of alert received for specific events like a new personal message, topic reply, quoted post, etc. Here's what you'll see with some new private messages and new notifications: And here's what you'll see without any private messages or notifications: Click the "Messenger" icon to view a pull-down menu revealing all recent messages, and the option to view all and compose new ones: Similarly, click the "Notifications" icon to view the related notifications and related options: Click your member name to reveal a variety of account management options, update your status, and optionally auto-update your Twitter/Facebook status if synced to your CruiseCrazies account (details coming soon): The search menu, located the main navigation menu, allows you to select the scope of your search. This topic covers 3 different feature which have been updated: Member Profiles Avatars and Member Photos "Like" Member Profiles - Completely redesigned and simplified. A column on the left side allows you to toggle the different profile components such as the Profile Feed, About Me, Friends, Topics, Posts, and more - Without having to reload the page. Editing your profile and account settings is now easier than ever. Just like when viewing a profile, a column on the left side allows you to browse and edit various components of your profile and account...All from a single page. Avatars and Member Photos: Have been merged into one: member photo Can be easily uploaded from your computer or a web address Auto-update your member photo by synchronizing your account with Facebook and/or Twitter (details coming soon) Crop your photo once it's uploaded - No more needing to reply on photo editing software! "Like This" - The new "Like" system, often seen on social networking sites, has replaced the previous "Reputation" system, which allowed members to "up-vote"a post's "reputation." This "Like" system is an even better visual way for identifying good content and makes it more personal by leaving your name in the "like" list by clicking the link to see exactly who has "liked" a post.

SITE UPGRADE New - Media Library, Tagging and Prefixes

This topic covers two new features: Media Library Tagging & Prefixes Media Library - Within the new text editor, the "My Media" button once selected allows you to browse, search and include your previously submitted content that you may wish to include in your post. Manually copying and pasting the content link is a thing of the past! Browse and select your content from the Media Library: Once selected, it'll appear as a image link within your forum post, like this: Tagging & Prefixes - You can now 'Tag' content with special keywords and search for other content tagged with the same keywords. Additionally, assign a custom prefix to a topic or blog entry. These features provide an additional way to organize data beyond forums and their categories. Simply put, the completely new text editor is a BIG step up. It includes all of the familiar tools, plus... Auto Saving Minimized Quick Reply Real-time Reply Alert Auto Saving - As you type, the editor saves what you've written. If anything happens to your page, upon reloading you'll see you can quickly restore your content. You won't lose another post to a browser crash or server time out. Minimized Quick Reply - Where space is tight the text editor appears as an empty text box: Upon clicking the text box to begin typing, it'll expand into the full editor ready for use: Once the "Post" button is clicked, the page updates instantly without having to refresh. Real-time Reply Alert - Ever post a message and realize someone else has already replied, making yours either redundant or out of context? Problem solved. The editor checks every 3 minutes to see if any new posts have come through and if so, you're notified with a pop-up menu so you can modify your post if needed.

CruiseCrazies Photos introduces a fresh look and lots of new features. Here are a few of them: Media Library If you submit an image to CruiseCrazies Photos, you may want to include it within a forum post, right? With the all new "Media Library," you can now share your content easily, without having to visit the content pages and copy links manually. Details Square Thumbnails Thumbnails of your images are cropped and resized to fit the same square size. If you prefer that your images are not cropped, you can disable this from your Photos settings. Other Updates Upload as many images as you like in one shot Stats (number of images, comments, etc.) have returned to the Photos homepage
