DaCruzNut
DENMARK<>KILIMAJARO Kilimanjaro is the largest of an E-W belt of about 20 volcanoes near the southern end of the East African Rift Valley. Also prominent in this belt are Ngorongoro caldera - a superb wildlife refuge, Ol Donyo Lengi - a carbonitite volcano, and Meru. Kilimanjaro is a triple volcano with the youngest and central peak of Kibo being 7.5-8.7 miles (12-14 km) from Shira to the west and Mawenza to the east. As all of Kilimanjaro's climbers know the gentle lower slopes steepen to 30 degrees about 13,000 ft.(4 km) elevation.

DaCruzNut
DINGLE BAY<>YAKUTIA Yakutia or the Republic of Sakha is situated in the North-Eastern Siberia. Its huge territory (one-sixth the size of the whole Russia) is covered with plain tundra (in the North), mountain ranges 2000-3000 m high (in the East and South) and taiga (in the West). More than 40% of territory of the Republic is situated beyond the Polar Circle. The density of population is less then 1 person on 1 km2. The climate is extremely continental with temperature differences of 100oC between +40oC in Summer and –60oC in Winter. The Pole of Cold for populated areas with the recorded temperature –71.2oC is situated in Yakutia. But even extremely high and low temperatures are quite tolerable because of dry and fresh air. (Gee, Slainte, Dingle Bay is sure prettier than Assawompset Pond, but mine has a funnier name....   )
