Nutz4theNet
Hi all :P I am new to cruising and have booked a 2 day "Cruise to Nowhere" on Oct. 16, 04. We will be on Carnival's Victory. I decided to take a short trip out to find out if I get seasick  Anything you can tell me would be appreciated!! Do we carry our own luggage on board, or are there porters like a longer cruise (well, shouldnt need but 1 carryon anyway huh??) Ok forget that dumb question lol Is there a "formal" night during these short cruises? What about entertainment?? Vegas style shows, or something different? I will traveling with my mother this time. Hubby is in Afghanistan right now :( I will book him and I a 7 day cruise for 2005 when he gets back if I do well on this one. Although from what I have read on the various cruise message boards that there are several remedies that actually work, so that may not matter. Any and all info is welcome!! Thanks, Karen
GottaCruz
I'm sorry I don't know anything about this 2 day "Cruise to Nowhere" but we have sailed the Victory on a 7 day cruise and loved this ship. Have a great time and I'm sure you'll be hooked and ready to book another with your hubby. I'm sure you'll do just fine. Feel free to post a topic regarding the type of remedies you mentioned . I'm sure you'll get loads of ideas. Sincerely, Cheryl
Lisa63
We've done a couple of cruises to nowhere. It's just like a longer cruise only, well, shorter. There is usually no pre-set formal night, but I've found that many passengers get dressed nicely for dinner the second night. No tuxedos or gowns, but something nice like you'd wear to a wedding. Even though it's a two-night cruise, you really have just one full day onboard, and that is spent at sea. Casinos and shops are open for nearly the entire time. Shows and other activities are also in full swing. This is a great way to see if cruising is for you. Feel free to ask more questions. I'd go on this one myself if it didn't coincide with school. (Husband is a teacher.) Best wishes to your husband in Afghanistan.
DaCruzNut
Have done several two-nighters and enjoyed them very much. It is, certainly, a good way to "test the waters....." Have a great cruise and let us know how you enjoyed it.
