What possessed you? (to take your first cruise)

I needed to get from Belize to anywhere in Central America pronto. The boat on which I got passage was the only way south other than returning to Mexico and motoring across to the PanAm. A day and a half later I disembarked in Punta Gorda, Guatemala and hitched my way south to Panama, got passage to Colombia and wound up in Bolivia. I believe I was younger then.

We decided to take the kids on our 1st cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on the old Carnival ship Festival. It was super small by todays standards but somehow they did a great job with many activities aboard the ship. My son and I won the nightgown contest! ;-)
