gogetter
Hello, Well it is only a day cruise...gambling cruise so to speak. I will give detailed info because i am sure everyone will like to know. It is from Port Canaveral. In case you didn't know...Port Canaveral has 2 ports or sides to it. A..One that houses the big boys...RCCL, Carnival and Disney, Hal and whoever else....then there is side B...That is where the gambling cruises leave from At one time they had a ship go out that had a gentlemans entertainment... Even though there are 2 sides so to speak, they both leave from the same channel. Just accessed from 2 different customer areas. Side B has more dining and bars. Also a boat ramp for those with their own vessels. Anyways.....we will be going Sunday Nov 30th..in case anyone else gets bored and wants to join us...Not sure if we will do Sterling or Sun Cruz...but it will be the day sailing...You really do not have to gamble on these things...just float away and dream and have a few refreshments....they also at times have some chessy entertainment....or good...... Just wanted to throw my little sailing in here.... :D

GottaCruz
gogetter, That sounds like fun. My mom and dad have done that many times and always enjoyed themselved. Mom now does that with the social club from her condo and they leave from Port Everglades. Have a great time! :D sailinglisa, The summers here are not as hot as the summers we hear about in other states. The humidity is really high but I think you get used to that, I know I did. Very often, in the summer it might be 92 degrees here and when we talk to my SIL in Brooklyn, she says it 97 degrees there. To be honest , the heat doesn't faze most people I know since we go from the air conditioned house to the air conditioned car to whatever destination that is also air conditioned. I guess those that are outdoorsy types like joggers or tennis players must feel it but it doesn't seem to stop anyone. Hubby and I do our walking in the evening and we never go to the pool until after the sun goes down. B)
KeithnRita
Our gambling boats are now dockside. No more trips down the Ohio River. The trips consisted of pulling forward about a half mile and then backing up all the way back to the dock. If the boat turned it would illegally be in Kentucky waters! Indiana just approved another riverboat license for French Lick--only problem they don't have a river for the boat. They are going to build a man-made lake to float it. :P :P
BoatrideLover
Gogetter - that sounds like fun; you'll have a great time! We went on the Sterling Casino ship in March. Like you said, we didn't gamble at all; not one dime. We sat on the open deck, had some drinks and enjoyed the ocean and fresh air. They actually had a pretty decent 3-piece reggae/steel drum band on there at that time, too. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and hope you have a great time!! Slainte
I've been trying to talk my DH into trying that, he says we're not big gamblers so what's the point. But, I agree with you..sit on deck, have a few, and enjoy the ride. I know that at least one of them (I think it's Sterling) offers a free ride to the port from the Melbourne Square Mall, which is about 5 minutes from my house!! Maybe I can talk him into giving it a shot on Nov. 30th! ;)

TVLady2
Gogetter, That sounds cool. I saw the Sun Cruz last week when we were docked in Port. She looked like a nice size ship. Have fun! Carol
