gogetter
Hello fine people, We went with a couple we have known for over 10 years. We all get along great and have fun together. We met at their house, she wasn't ready....i get rather superstitous when i gamble, especially when i haven't gambled in a while. Then they have to stop at the store. We are taking separate vehicles. Finally we get going and my wife spills a drink on her skirt. Then he calls us to ask which way we are going. I tell him one way because it doesn't really bother me one way or another to take a toll road, but we go that way. We were to meet a little before the cruise to tailgate a little. We don't find each other. Finally we get on and find a spot. This vessel is called the Splendid Princess. I do not know much history on the vessel, so i can't tell you all where it came from. An older ship, of course. It is used for gambling day cruises. When we board and go to the right, there is a bar and quite a few tables with a duo singing. Rather large area, so to me it was enjoyable. They also had some slots along the wall. Do not remember any names of the slot machines. I am a blackjack player really. The 2nd level is the main gaming area. 2 roulette and 3 craps tables. Probably about 20-25 BJ tables in this area. They had some Let it Ride tables also. BJ tables ranged from $5-$25 minimum bets. 3rd level Had a high limit area for $50 minimum bets and a 4th level for poker. Also on the 4th level they had a tiki bar and outside sitting area with another fellow singing some tunes. We sat up there for sailaway. Nice cool sunny day with calm seas. Found my wife a slot machine. Jungle something or other. I went to play some BJ. Tables were rather full. Finally found a spot. Couldn't win a hand to save my life. Get down about $50 and they change dealers....yea buddy....i win back my loss, and here comes the original dealer....yuck...i lose a few hands and decide to leave. I played some craps, as i like to throw the dice. If i can't throw i usually do not play. I had a good session rolling for about 15 minutes winning people some decent money. They thanked me, but a tip would have been nice....lol...lol.... :D :D Went back to BJ and this where it personally pisses me off. I went to a table and some guy is playing 2 spots on a $5 minimum table. He won't give up one of the spots so i, or anyone else could sit and play. Rather rude in my book, as the dealer tries to explain to me that this is acceptable as she has seen it at other places she has worked. Well i say....that may be the case but at places i have been, if someone is WAITING to play, then give up the spot. I mean geesh...it's a 5 dollar table. they guy is betting the minimum, he isn't making a killing, so what's the point? If i sit down there still will be that many cards out on the table anyways and who knows you might meet someone new and have a great time. So the guy doesn't move and i don't want to talk to a pit boss. I just eat my loses and wonder around before finding my wife glued to the TV as her beloved Eagles from Philly are playing. Thet end up winning so at least someone did!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All in all a great time with some friends, but not a winning session on gambling. Doesn't always shine on me, but was glad to share some fun. This was the Sun Cruz ship from Port Canaveral. Sailed Sunday from 11 am to 4:30 pm. Thanks... :D Oh yea...the lifeboat drill was an anoouncement like on an airplane. :D

GottaCruz
gogetter, Even though the gambling did not work out too well, I'm glad to hear that you and your wife and your friends had an enjoyable time anyway. It sounds like a really fun experience and I'm hoping to try that one day. I'm glad to hear that the lifeboat drill was just an announcement. Phew! Thank you so much for writing your review. :D

jbond
Tough luck on the gambling, but it sounded as if you enjoyed yourself.

sailingrose
Jason it's 18 on RCI but not sure about the other lines. RCI also lets 18 year olds drink beer and wine. Sorry you didn't have a better gambling time gogetter. Maybe next time. I've done the Sterling one and didn't have much luck either.
