Mebert
I agree with Dan. The media has chosen who they want to emphasize and they keep shoving those individuals down our throats. It amazes me that the many in the general public realize that the Jessica Lynch story was hype, however, the media and commerce still want to pursue this particular story. I believe that Jessica Lynch is a hero or heroine, however, I also believe that the POW's were also heroic. I believe this because they all risked their lives by entering the military. I also believe there are many other stories that are overlooked or ignored because it seems we need a symbol to rally behind. Perhaps that symbol may be Jessica Lynch. I am longing to hear some information about the other rescued POW's and their rescurers but that would present somewhat of a media challenge and real research. Companies have the right to choose who they want as a spokesperson and I guess they rely on the information that is delivered by the press. I wish Jessica Lynch much success toward her future but I would like the same consideration for some of the other heroes.
