cruising2day
There are numerous hotels at the airport - on Airport Road. There is a nice Holiday Inn, a Residence Inn, a Fairfield Inn (I think). Stick with the major chains and you'll be fine. The Holiday Inn has a swim up bar. You could also stay downtown at the Omni, the Adams Mark or the Hilton. There's a downtown "hot spot" called the Jacksonville Landing with restaurants and shops. And, you could stay at the beach. Jacksonville Beach is really nice. There's a nice Holiday Inn Sunspree. There's also a Marriott in Sawgrass (where the PGA is played). The beach is a little far, but depending on your time of year (April or later - Jax does have a winter) it's an option. There aren't any hotels near the port - yet - so your best bet is the airport or downtown.
