JohnG
The general rule is 1 hour before sailing.

Gregswife
I agree about always arriving in the departure city the day before, if at all possible. I posted this in another thread recently, but wil abbreviate it here - we were sailing from San Juan at 10:00 - we booked a flight that was schedule to land about 2:30, which we felt was more than enough time. Due to the flight being delayed numerous times, we did not land until after 9:00 and had been told we could board no later than 9:30. It was a race, literally, with cabbie driving like he was at the Indy 500 in order to get that extra tip hubby offered if we made it in time. It was way too much stress. That was the first time we ever flew in on sailing day, and will be the last.
Sunbeam
Thanks for that bit of info Gregswife. We wanted to do it to San Juan the same day from Canada (landing at 2:30 pm). I guess even in November we might be taking a chance.
