Shari, I think I would avoid December next time. But on the good side the whales do come back then, so sightings are up. But since the weather can be windy and wetter this time of year, I would do a few months later next time. I think for any port, looking into the weather patterns when you want to go is a good tip for any cruiser.

Thanks for the information, Barbara. The last time we went to Hawaii...10 years ago...it was in February, and the first two days were unseasonably cold, but the rest of the trip, we had fabulous weather. We got a really good deal on this next trip...that's why we are going in December. We'll just have to hope for the best!
