Alaska excursions

Any advice on excursions in Alaska would be helpful

We will be leaving 8/20/04 on the Mercury

The DH wnts to go fishing (if he thought they would let him troll of the back of the ship he would) :grin:

We cruised Alaska last year on Celebrity's Summit. We had taken a whale watching excursion in Juneu. We loved it. One whale came so close to our ship

you could of almost reached out and touch it.

We did Alaska last year on RCI's Legend of the Seas. We didn't do any fishing trips, but if we did it again and wanted to fish, I would definitelywaiy until we docked in the port. Plenty of fishing trips available and much cheaper than the cruise line.

Alaska is awesome, every port has great tours and the scenery is incredible.

We did a helicopter to a glacier, awesome! And the train ride up the Whitepass with the bus ride down and stop at Liarsville was also great. We did locac tours right off the pier in other ports, very nice and cheap than the ship. The helicopter too we did on our own and saved $50 pp.
